Front Royal KOA, Front Royal VA

Hi all, We just got home from a trip to VA.  We stayed at the KOA in Front Royal, VA.  We did not have a great experience.  The area around the campground and teh campground property is very nice.  We have a coleman pop up, so when we go camping we like the sites with full hook ups because we have a shower.  It seems that where ever you go and if you get full hookups you are surronded by these big 35 foot RVs.  No privacy because the sites were probably 18-20 feet wide.  We were right on top of each other.  There was no shade at all in the full hook up area.  I dont know why the have to take down every tree when the put in the utilities.  The biggest problem with this campground was the #&^%@^&@  FLIES.  They were everywhere.  You had to constantly swipe over your food as you ate.  They were terrible.  I know the management cant control that but they say that it is always like that.  They should warn you when booking.  The facilities were nice and the pool was nice.  They had a pancake breakfast for $2 on the weekends.  That was good except for the plague of flies swarming the food and garbage pales.  So we packed up early and went to Kings Dominion and a Holiday in Express.  That was allot of fun.

We just completed our second trip to Front Royal, KOA. I really like the place. We also have a pop-up but choose the W/E sites instead of the W/E/S sites. Those full hookup sites are horrible. They are right next to the clubhouse, pool, dump station. I like to be more secluded. We have had the same site both times and both times it was a pleasant experience. Almost all of the W/E sites are heavily wooded and private. I would recommed this campground to everyone.

Funny how we all like different things.  I have to agree with Mike! We don't care for this KOA in Front Royal at all...even the W/E sites.
