We had fully intended to stay at this park this past weekend but ended up at  Stone Mountain SP, NC instead (see review).  We did make it a point to check this one out because you just never know what you are going to get in the park.  As normal for the Blue Ridge, there are no hookups and no showers.  That we don t mind so much.  The campground is really pretty.  Lots of trees and large open areas in the middle.  However, most sites would not accomodate a PU.  Most of the parking pads are for two campsites so forget trying to park your camper and then your TV.  For tenters, the place is great.  Lots of privacy where the pads are located for setting up tents.  The worst part of the CG however were the bathrooms.  They were few and far between and you would literally have to drive to them from most sites.  Long hikes to the toilet I don t need in the middle of the night.  The campground does have sites for the big rigs but PU s are specifically routed to the area for tents.  I don t know if they would have let us camp in the RV area or not.  Those sites were pretty close together and the bathrooms were just as far from the campsites.  I would recommend Mt. Pisgah instead.

slowpezWe were told that we had to go to that area. The campground host stopped us on the way into the RV area and told us we couldn t camp on that side. This was pre popup, and we were camping in a van. We went on south to the next campground Julian Price Memorial Park (milepost 297.0). We were very pleased with this campgroud
