Went camping last week for first time this season. Met up with folks from the board in PA. " What a week" . Anyway.....Got DW in the mood [;)]. So she made reservations at last min in Ocean City Md. at Frontier Town. Actually we where Lucky to get them. So anyone going to be at Frontier town the week of Aug 9th we will be there too. Look us up I will have my " PUT sign proudly displayed" .

CampNfanRick, I had tried to get reservations for that week, told them all I needed was water and electric, sewer would be nice but not necessary. They told me that all they had was for this week. My vacation week is next week...They must know you are recouperating and need the sun and sand [:D]

After much deliberation and fretting, I decided since an Armed Forces Vacation Club Time Share in Daytona came open, for a lot less than 7 nights at Frontier Town, with a whirl pool bath tub and washer/dryer in the 1 bedroom apt. No leveling, hooking up, hoses and land lines, or sweeping sand out...I decided that may that might be OK...this time (actually was going to call campgrounds in Myrtle Beach until I checked AFVclub and found the times share on the beach.)

We had really though about Knoebels, but Jeffrey and I botha are having a bad season with allergys, so decided the beach would be better...So what if it is a 12-15 hour drive. I got my new(er) minivan now!

CampNfanLast year some friends of ours were making last minute Frontier Town reservations.  He called and they said they could give him a few days on one site and a few days on another, then over the course of a week with them calling back and forth he actually managed to get a week all on the same site.

I guess it never hurts to keep calling because people do cancel.  A late caller probably snatched up the prime site we had to cancel on recently and we had to pay a $12 cancellation fee!

 CampNfanI hear that Carole,
The site we got was great. It was near the bathrooms which DW liked! and it was in the shade, which is what I liked! The weather held out good for us too! Last min. plans sometimes are the best![;)]

CampNfanRick, glad everything worked out and you had a good site.

They would have let me come but I would have had to have switched sites almost daily (when I called 3 weeks before). That was not an option, I have just too darned much stuff (actually I was going to leave the camp kitchen, tent, screened room and other stuff at home and just carry the basics and eat out most of the time).

Where I was, I did not have a balcony (boo hiss), but I did have a bathroom, dishwasher (mechanical not manual), washer dryer and a whirl pool tub all in the one bedroom time share. Down side was it was a 15 hour drive each way.
