Or, if you like you can go directly to our folding trailer products page via foldingtrailers.com, or Caravans at caravantrailers.com. Any of these domain names will bring you closer to learning more about us, our products, and getting you and your family out camping...bookmark one or all of these domain names and visit often. Take a look and let us know what you think. We thank you for the support that has made us the number one folding trailer in the industry. We look forward to hearing from you.

 colemanrvHi,

I see that the name Coleman has been taken out completely from the web site. I am assuming that the PU s produced by FW will now be called FleetWood PU s from now on as a result of the ongoing dispute ?

Will the Fleetwood PU s have any planned drastic deviation from the old PU s ? I know you guys just came out with the 2004 year models, but will there be a 2004.5 model with stuff which Coleman didn t/wouldn t allow you to put in ?

I don t mean to be offensive, but, just in case you did not notice I wanted to bring it to your attention that you posted with the member name " COLEMANRV" .

I wish both companies success ....

colemanrvLet s see, I have Coleman Bayside.  I am now confused.  Are you going to be issuing new stickers for my camper that will change the name on the sides?  Should I change my signature now to reflect that my Bayside was or is different from the Bayside that is being sold now?  I just don t know what to do.

I guess my real concern is who is now going to honor my lifetime warranty?  Coleman or Fleetwood.  Both names are on my camper!

fleetwoodrvI really love my Coleman/Fleetwood trailer, or at least I did until I got my new " free"  $300 roof.  I only live 2 hours from the factory and they charged $300 for shipping.  Fleetwood would not let me pick up my " free"  roof.  It had to be shipped by them.  Until April 1st of this year you could get your " free"  roof for free.

Now that I have my $300 " free"  roof let me see how I like it.

I have a shower/toilet in the trailer and they didn t install the hardware in the ceiling that holds up the counter that covers the shower/toilet area when not in use.

There are 3 snaps in the ceiling that hold the privacy curtain in place.  There are also 4 white nylon straps that hold the shower curtain rod in place.  The one snap is so close to the nylon strap you can t snap the privacy curtain in place.  If I could snap the curtain in place it wold sag about 6 inches from the ceiling because the snaps are in the wrong place.

The roof gasket is spit on 3 of the 4 corners.

The curtain valances are hanging all around the trailer.  They don t attach properly like they did on the old roof.  Maybe I am wrong, maybe the tenting is supposed to be tucked into cracks and under the roof support.

The door latches only catch the metal piece in the ceiling by a fraction of an inch and have worked loose while we are camping.

The air conditioner location was moved behind the axel.  Not good for tongue weight.

The tenting is about an inch too long now, it attach,s at a lower point or it is just that the roof is lower all the way around.  The tenting is now slack and it looks like I don t have the PU up all the way.  I have had water enter the PU through the loose tenting.  This never happened before.  Maybe the water proofing of the tenting has worn off, but this never happened to me when the tenting was tight.

When I velcro the tenting to the door I have a large bump of tenting at the top where there is too much tenting.

How about using duct tape to cover 8 bolts in the side of the roof, that will wear a hole in the tenting over time.  Of course the tenting will not be under warranty when that happens.  I will have to pay for that too.

I do like the lights in the new roof.  They have the 3 way switch that allows you to turn the light to off, 1 bulb one or both bulbs on.  This is the same switch my 1987 Coleman trailer had.  Why did they ever change that?

Of course I wasn t supposed to notice all of this stuff.  I guess I am just supposed to be happy with the " free"  $300 roof I have.

fleetwoodrvI want to apologies to you fleetwoodrv.  You have been a member for over 8 months and I want to say WELCOME.  I noticed that this is the first time you have posted.  I hope we will be hearing more from you in the future, now that you have taken the first step and made your first post.  I am sure others would like to hear from you too.

fleetwoodrvI think we scared him away with all the problems with roofs posted on a thread that was meant to inform people of a name change.Amazing how the topic changes in the middle.

I don t think they ahd any intention of being present on the board. They just wanted to make the announcement and that was it.  I wish they would actively participate in the board like Viking does. It is a big corporate decision though. Getting feedback into an organization this way requires a lot of preparation, and they might not be ready for it yet.

fleetwoodrvI got a kick out of the fact that a few days ago a post about this was posted by ColemanRV. Guess everything had to change.
Remember folks this isn t the firt time this has happened. Serveral years ago PU s were for a few months coming out under only the Fleetwood name with narey a sign of the Coleman name then as well.
We had friends with IIRC a Fleetwood Fairview, it s just at the time I never realized it was simple a rebadged Coleman. I remembered telling them that they should expect problems as all the members of the extended family that owned Fleetwood products had terrible times with warranty problems on their TT s and Class A s.

fleetwoodrvMan, I am really nervous about my warranty.  We just got our new Carmel in May and EVERY SINGLE seat cushion is falling apart in some way.  Most have the seams coming apart, and one has a button holding on for dear life by one thread.  The dealer wants to put " seat covers"  on the cushions, but we are fighting for brand new replacements.  We haven t even SAT on each cushion yet!!

With my " old"  2001 Taos that we traded in on the Carmel, the screen door wouldn t stay attached when popped up, and the counter tops were all coming apart on the edges.  In fact one of the reasons we decided to trade in the Taos is that it looked so old after only two years of use, and it was driving me crazy!!

And no - we don t " beat-on"  or treat our vehicles badly.  Those of you that I have camped with KNOW how I take care of my stuff...  WAAAY above average care & love!!!!  [&:]

Like I said, I am nervous about my warranty...  [:o]

fleetwoodrvWell....my 1993 PU is made by Fleetwood, but the owners manual says Coleman.  On the outside of it, you don t see any mention of Coleman...only Fleetwood.  It s a great camper and I guess mine beat the " problem"  models.

 Cheers
