OK.....I think I m getting the Cabin Fever, er...PU Fever.   Got up this morning and it was 10 below zero.

Now I like winter and all and I have weathered 27 below but when I look out at my thermometer I can also see my PU.  Did I see it shivering?

I think the long, hard Winter this year will make the first Spring trip especially good.  Hopefully Winter will be hard but short.

At least I have the Board which acts like a great support group when I get the Housebound Blues.

MTNDAVEI feel for you.  It keeps pushing the single digits here (in Kansas..that s cold), but I remember those temps when I was growing up in NY.  No thank you.
p.s...Just wanted to add..we finally got snow here.  Not enough to alleviate the drought...but is sure pretty to look at.  DS had his first snow day...and he, and his lil gf from next door had his first snowball fight against her sister.  I forgot how much fun snow can be when you re a kid.

HersheyGirl

MTNDAVEI thought we were cold at 7 deg. here in Hershey!  Cabin fever has set in here too, and the kids have a 4 day weekend!  The days are getting longer, the days are getting longer, spring will be here soon.....[8D][8D][8D]

Starcraft Dad

everything frozen in barn and power shut off by NYSEG to perform repairs in the area.
Generators at farm but DW and DD s got a little chilly before power restored
Looking forward to spring and picking up our camper!![8D]
We made reservations at three campgrounds for four visits to help combat our cabin fever and my West Marine catalog arrived today so that helps take my mind away from the frigid temps. [:)]

  " The Great White North"

In some of our cities up here during the winter months, we don t even add the (-) minus when we talk temperature.  ie:  " it 37 degrees and sunny out today" , meaning it s -37 celcius (a degree warmer than -40 Fahrenheit).

marybeth1024

MTNDAVEI don t want to make you all jealous but it s a whopping 20 degrees here right now!

 I WANT SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 MTNDAVEHi guys
Just got back from Mahlon Dickerson Reservation in Jefferson,NJ.
We camped there from Friday night until noon today.
Temps on friday night went down to about minus 3 degree and saturday during the day it was about 9 degree.Took a nice hike late morning and when we got back about 2 1/2 hours later, I opened a can of soup, which was stored in the lower cupboard by the wheel well and it was FROZEN.
Had the propane heater and extra ceramic heater cranking most of the time.
It was a very nice weekend.
My goal this year is to go camping every month, this was the first trip. We re planning to go to Otters Lake in Pa next month.

 Happy camping
 Andy

MTNDAVEAndy do you have any problems with opening or closing the PU when it is this cold.  We have camped when it got into the 20 s but not as cold as it is now.

andym86

 MTNDAVEHi Tracy
I didn t have any problems. It was about 10 degrees or so when I opened it on friday and today I had the heater running just before I closed it up. The plastic windows were fine, and the cable mechanism, etc. worked ok. I kept my gloves on while setting up,because I didn t want to get" stuck"  on any metal.
 Happy camping.

 MTNDAVEMTNDAVE,

Not to post my age or anything like that, but I remember in the 50 s and 60 s when -30-40 was not unheard of during the month of January. By the way this is in upstate New York. Today it is rare to see it. I do know up there today is around 0 degrees. My Dad use to take us for a drive on Easter if it was in April, around the lakes to see the huge ice jams. We are talking huge ice jams! Some of this ice was 4 to 5 feet thick. Recently went to the museum here in Maryland on the Susquehanna River which had pictures of the river frozen where you could walk accross with no problems. Also pictures where they were having auto races on the ice. I have never seen it frozen.

So bottom line, what is a little cold ?[;)]
