Tyler Scott Mahaffey has arrived.  He made his grand appearance at 5:21 A.M central Time. 6lbs 4 oz. 21 1/2 inches long, 13 1/2 inch head, 11 3/6 inch chest Full head of black hair.  
  He is in I.C.U. but, Phillip said he is doing good.  Melissa is fine but keep both of them in your prayers.
 
 Update.  Tyler is breathing on his own as of 4:55 P.M. Central time,  looks like he will be going to a step down unit in 48 hours, as long as he keeps up the good work.  Home within a week if he keeps doing well.

She had to change her mind, she couldn t take it any longer. At 9 P.M. last night she gave in to an epidural ( after this long I would have also) As of 3 A.M. This morning still no baby. I have never heard of a woman being in labor this long ( about 45 hours now.) I told Phillip to ask if a c-section would be better but, the doctor didn t think so.

Congratulations!!!!!!!  I m sure that she is glad that the Birth is over.  Sounds like a very painful time, but the results are worth it!!
 
 Send her and the baby all our hugs and prayers..  I m sure that this will make life complete!

WHAT???  45 hours? [>:] I think it is just cruel to let a woman and baby go that long.  After 24 hours they should have C-sectioned her, that s to much stress on a baby that is not necessary.
 
 Well anyway, I m glad they are both OK!  It s really amazing to think of what a baby has to go through to be born! They are so resiliant though!  Babies can go through so much and come out just fine!  Congrats to you all!![][][][]
