[font=" Lucida Sans Unicode" ]As I flipped the TV to the cartoon my DS wanted to watch, I began to wonder... What was your favorite cartoon or cartoon character as a kid?

HoneybeeMy parents used to punish me by making me SIT and watch TV! I always wanted to be outside playing. I do remember that one of the shows I liked was the Roadrunner show.
I still would rather be outside than watching TV! Well, maybe not tonight it s about 18 below zero right now!!!

NightOwl

HoneybeeMy alltime fave is RoadRunner, but I loved Rocky and Bullwinkel, too[:)]  BugsBunny is almost tied for first place along with them, though--just cwazy about that wascally wabbit

Hmm, maybe I shouldnt have answered this--we didnt have cartoons when I was little--my kids insist that all we had was petroglyphs way back then[;)]

Starcraft Dad

HoneybeeI  used to be a big fan of Johnny Qwest.  I guess it still is on on some cable stations.  Now I don t care for the tunes they have now except for Animaniacs.  For some reason I just get a kick out of them.

HoneybeeI usually have a hard time finding other people who remember this one, but  Winkie Dink and I  was just about my favorite cartoon show ever.   You got a kit in the mail, and it had this plastic sheet that stuck to the front of your tv screen, and these very soft wax crayons and when Winkie Dink (hey, I just watched it, didn t have anything to do with creating the main character) got into trouble, you had to help him by drawing something.  Like a bridge over a sheer cliff with a river at the bottom, and then he could run to safety, and you could quick erase it with your magic cloth, so the bad guys couldn t use it.    I just loved that show, but my mom took the crayons away after I used them on the living room wall.

Just remembered, it wasn t  Winkie Dink and I  , it was  Winkie Dink and me .

Michicampers

HoneybeeFelix the Cat.  I loved Yogi too - we named a pet rat after him (a big tan one, and very gentle), and my youngest son s nickname is Boo Boo (he was kinda furry when he was born.) And of course, Fractured Fairy Tales - such good moral lessons [;)].

HoneybeeFunny you should ask that because last night I was flipping thru the channels and found the Banana Splits. They used to be on Saturday morning. I remembered the name but couldn t remember the actual show but Duane sat down and watched the whole thing. He remembered every character - anyone remember the Banana Splits?

Oh, Bugs Bunny will always be my favorite!

" Winkie  Dink and me, Winkie Dink and you, we could have a lot of fun together"

I think that is how the song went.  We never had the screen though.[: (]

HoneybeeGreat topic.  I use to watch them all...The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby Doo (where they have the music during the chase scenes..when started introducing Scooby s relatives...it went down hill), Tom and Jerry, Speed Buggy, Grape Ape, etc....but tops would have to be Bugs Bunny....my favs are either the ones where Foghorn Leghorn and the dog go at it (and sometimes include the lil egghead chicken) and come up with all these intricate traps, bugs and daffy together (" duck season...rabbit season" ), or when bugs goes up against the fox hounds (sniffsniffsniff" twain twacks...musta been trying to catch a train" ).  Later it was GI Joe, He-Man, She-Ra, Thundar the Barbarian and all the other 30 minute cartoon comercials for preteen lads.

HoneybeePopeye and Bugs Bunny were my two favorites. I even ate my spinach as a kid!

Honeybee

Honeybee[font=" Lucida Sans Unicode" ]In thinking about this more I forgot Mighty Mouse and Under Dog.

HoneybeeI use to love Saturday mornings...from Justice League to Tom and Jerry to the Bugs and Tweety Show, Fat Albert, Zoom.  However, I just loved those After School Specials...they don t seem to do those anymore do they?

kathybrj

HoneybeeLooney Toons (and Merry Melodies) definitely. My all time favorite is " What s Opera, Doc?"  and the one where Bugs is a square dance caller. My favorite charater is Gossamer (the red, hairy, heart shaped monster that Bugs gave a manicure and new hair-do to).

I also remember the Banana Splits and HR Puffin  Stuff. Loved Johnny Qwest.

Now my kids get a kick out of Sponge Bob....(this is where we need an eye rolling icon...)
