RE: What s up with this board?

It has kind of died as of late. A few other sites I visit are much more active. Go figure?

YellowXterraNot many new members joining I guess ........That was always the case for starting new threads, a question, and we would all pitch in, and before that thread died, another question and so on. We all got to know each other pretty well, and some of us (to exclude myself) are now seasoned campers and don t ask too many questions ?

I, for one, personally, hope that we will be as active as back in the good old days , as we started camping thanks to PU and my firends here, and I made many valuable friends.

YellowXterraI m not one to complain much but this is getting to be a drag... logging in and seeing blank postings. I don t mind paying for the website with an annual fee but I don t think we deserve to be paying for inferior service when other free sites do not seem to have similar problems.

birolI for one have stopped a lot of posts as a few were complaining about the " fluff" that people were posting. I like to read a lot of the fluff as you can really get to know people better.

The beginning of the school year takes lots of folks away. Plus, several of us are trying to get in a few more camping trips before winter gets here.

It will pick up soon.

I don t believe it is because it s a seasonal thing. This was cited by some last time this was brought up. It was winter then and some said when we all started camping it would pick up. Well, we are camping and things have not changed.

YellowXterraPersonally, I think that the number of posts has fallen off a bit due to the problems with the board last week.People only have so much time.If they have problems reading the forums,or posting,many will reduce the ammount of time trying to do so,for a while.Participation will soon normalize again. PS-There have been numerous problems in many parts of the net lately(it s not just our board !).

YellowXterraActually I do think the board is doing fine. I disagree on the seasonal aspect. Our August was crazy with DS heading for first year at university, job demands, yard, rental house repairs. I checked in several time a week to scan for topics that caught my eye but that was all the time I had.

I posted a question yesterday on kayaks and already have tons of great help today. That level of activity impressed the heck out of me!
