 Could this be a scam?

 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3625767281&category=2020

It looks suspect to me. No pictures. $1700 canvas (don t they run $1000 or less?). $300 tires (I think he overpaid). And the seller has a ZERO rating.

Would I buy the camper for a hundred bucks? NOT ON YOUR LIFE. Not even if I had a hundred bucks to throw away.

brainpauseI didn t spend $300 on tires for my SUV, and that takes four of them!!! I don t know where this guy get s his " Values"  from, be he s badly mis-informed or is trying to mis-inform those that consider his unit.

brainpauseThere are several ways to insure that the " Kiss Of Death"  touches your auction on Ebay. A *missing* picture, or one of poor quality, is one way. Having erroneous or misleading information in the description is another. Demanding an unreasonable amount for a first bid, sight unseen, takes the cake. Either this guy is a moron, or he expects *you* to be one. [;)]

brainpauseSounds like a scam to me... But I am sure some fool will bid and get taken for his money.............[:(]

Lablover

brainpauseNo model name or info to compare. I wouldnt touch it with even a 20 ft pole. We sold our 1984 Coleman five years ago for $1000. Looks like hes fishing for a moron.

brainpauseFrom the title of this thread I thought you were talking about an email being sent out requesting eBay users to " update/verify"  their information.  I deleted such an email just yesterday.  If it s legit, I ll " update/verify"  my information when I log on with my password rather than respond to an email.

 Peace be with you all.

I got that kind of an email that was supposed to be from Pay-Pal about a month ago.  They wanted your user name, pass word and credit card info.  I sent the email to Pay-Pal but never heard anything from them.

As for the PU, they are crazy!

Flacamper

brainpauseThe guy replied to my email.  I asked if his figures we correct for the tires and awning.  All he said was both were replaced two years ago and it has only been camped in twice since.  He did send a picture, but I could not open it.  Anyway, I think I ll pass on this one.

jpreiser

brainpausewow if his figures were correct then he got taken also.....

angelsmom10

 brainpauseI emailed him this..

QuoteWhat model of Coleman?  Also, please supply any and all pics that you can.  It is very hard to buy something over the internet let alone without any pictures.  You really should put outside and inside pics with your ad.

 Also, who replaced your canvas?

I think you got taken most replacement canvases I have looked at has been under $1,000.

Also, what kind of tires does it take?

I have found standard camper tires for pprox $15.00 each.

I have been looking into campers and possibly getting a fixer upper and have priced replacement items.

Not sure if I ll get a response, but I thought it would be worth a try.
