QuoteIf you don t like the fluff - don t read the campfire - it s what a lot of it is about -- off topic subjects.

Ahhh, I was actually agreeing with you[&:], I don t like it either, but that was my opinion on why it is this way.

I don t know how to change it?

As far as fluff I could really care less, I ve posted more then my share.
It is nice though, if it at least is something everyone would understand.
The stuff between 2 people that nobody else will " get"  could probably be a PM.
(Again, Thats just IMO so do whatever you want, I m not in charge of anything.)

Just cause I don t have a ton of posts, doesn t mean I m against it.[;)]

QuoteThe only thing we ll do differently this season is instead of running antifreeze through all the lines is that we ll hook up a compressor and blow water out of all the water lines with air, then only put enough antifreeze in the drains to prevent ice from breaking the pipes. Our hybrid has outside connectors to the water lines at several points. This just makes it easier in the spring to de-winterize and we won t have to worry about sanitizing as much.

Natacha, I do not leave the antifreeze in the lines, After a day or two, I reopen the outlets under the shower and reblow out the lines, antifreeze and all. The Antifreeze absorbs/blends with the water, but I have heard of the antifreeze/water solution freezing if the temps get cold enough and messing up water lines. that way there is only drops in the pipes. We had a pretty bad winter last year and the Bantam came through beautifully, blowing it out twice.

I do drain the Hot water heater, and replace the anode. I have one of those single valve bypasses on the inside of my trailer.

I do not have a water filter.
And I do nothing special with the tires.

The jayco virtually does not have a water system, we found that out at RJ Ranch, the faucet has a nice leak. So I do not ahve to winterize that one at all.

angelsmom10Thanks for reminding me -- I forgot about the shower[:@]

angelsmom10To be honest I like seeing people answer questions also.  While I tend to point to my site as a starting point I still have a lot to learn.  I like being able to acquire new information to update my pages and keep them fresh.

This is more of what I am trying to do.  ie....Point to a site, and maybe add your experience -- like we used to do it this way, but trying (      ) s site was a much better or easier way.  This way a person who may be doing the older way may think it s fine, but by someone saying I used to do it this way, but changed and found that it was much easier to a better experience.  Old habits are hard to change.

I don t know how clear I just made this, but if someone does understand and can say it clearer, please do so.

tlhdocNancy, I m not sure why you would be reluctant to ask these questions, as you said yourself, we have lots of new members, and it s the right time of year for us to be thinking about this.   We did used to have a large archive of information that we are no longer  able to access as we did before.   So, " look it up"  isn t a viable answer like it used to be.
Our camper doesn t really need any winterizing, beyond just draining the water storage tank.   So, I wouldn t usually read a post with this topic.  Lots of us just look for topics that we know relate to us.  Others read every topic and respond to every topic.  And that s fine, whatever you do.
I hope that I have never made you feel as if I m critical of your posts, or that you shouldn t ask questions.   You ve contributed so much good food for thought to this board, that you should never have to wonder if your posts are relevant.   As for fluff, you re right again, that s why we have " the campfire"  and I m glad for that.   Keep right on doing all the things that you are doing, you are a valuable member of this board.
