 Hi everyone,
This is my first post so please be patient. I just bought a 2003 1/2 Fleetwood Santa Fe. I was wondering if anybody has had any experience using a " trailer dolly"  such as the power wheel advertised in the back of Pop Up Times? Camping World also has one but is entirely manual pushpull. I have a slight incline in my driveway and DW and I would rather not have to push so hard to get the popup into its parking space on the side of our house if there was an easier way. It is not really possible to back it in all the way. Thanks for any help you can offer.

HankWelcome to our great site, and congrats on your new PU the adventure is about to begin. I ve never used a dolly but have seen one used at our dealer and it seems to work well. I back mine into my driveway around a decorative wall and into it s spot like a tractor trailer driver and I believe I can back it into any spot it will fit into, all it takes is practice and patience, one of my goals is to get it in the same exact spot everytime. Pushing it on a level ground is also fairly easy. Have fun and Happy Camping.

We have the Harbor Freight dolly that Tim has.  We also have to deal with a " slight incline"  and are moving a 10-foot bed Coleman.  " Slight Incline"  essentially eliminates the effectivenss of the dolly.

I can pull it up the incline with quite a bit of effort.  Can t push with the dolly hardly at all.  Although I have no experience with the motorized one, I am slightly inclined to tell you to go for it because the other dolly does not work on hills.

HankHiya, Hank!  WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!!

I have the one-man-power trailer dolly as well. Ummm.... what Scott said. [;)]

It s pulls easily, but pushes hard. If you get one, make dang sure you get the 600 lbs. rated, pneumatic " knobby"  tires version. The 400 lbs. version ain t worth spit.  *If* you can figure out how to pull the trailer backwards with a rope to the frame (NOT the bumper), the dolly will do a much better job that the tongue jack alone for steering, but it would be a two person job-- one to pull, one to steer.

Nudder option... thought about a front-mounted receiver on the tow rig? It might make " backing"  the trailer a lot easier.

HankWe have one of the power dollies and would be lost without it. We use it to back the trailer up an incline in the driveway. It s very easy to use. I didn t like spending that much money, but am glad I did.

HankThanks for all the input. I went with the 600lb. rated version from Harbor Freight. My wife steers with the dolly and I push the trailer. Works much better than pushing & steering with the small wheel on the front of the trailer. Thanks again.
