 I have been diagnosed with Hypertension, It is not even moderate, our family doctor said, it is very slightly below what is called critical. She kept measuring it, sheesh. It was 120-180 ......
 
 
 So now i am on pills, for the rest of my life. Obviously my heart hasn t been effected by this yet. They took an ECG, and she looked at it and said, you must be one heartless *******. I said, yeah that is what DW calls me all the time :).
 
 They took 5 gallons of blood and other icky samples of me. awaiting the results of that. She will see me next week to see how the medicine is helping and fine tuning it. I had it measured it today, and it was 100-150, which is in the right direction, but not enough. I am hoping one pill will be enough to bring it down. I don t want to take 4 pills a day. And yeah, I have to minimize drinking, boooohoooo no more beer parties .......

 birolGood luck with your test,  high blood pressure can be caused my stress,,, maybe you need to go camping and relax....[:D]

 birolTell the doctor that your BP will go back to normal now that the board is back up and running.

 I had DH at the hospital this past Mon eve.  He said that he had heart burn for the past day and that he was feeling a pain near the left shoulder with  some feeling of numbness.  I asked if he wanted to go to the hospital and when he said yes and wanted me to drive, I knew he was feeling bad.  My brother had similar simptoms (lasting for several days) just prior to having a major heart attack.
 
 After spending 5hrs there and only 2 in the actual ER room, they said that EKG and blood seemed normal, but did want a stress test done.  They feel it is acid reflux.
 
 I know it was hard on him as his father had by-pass surgery when he was just about 10 years older then DH is now.  I was having problems dealing with it as he would not let me call anyone till we knew.  Younger DH knew we were at the hospital, but only thought it was he was sick.
 
 Birols " short story"  became my long story.  Sorry birol, please take care of yourself.

 birolThanks for the good wishes. I am trying to take care of myself, byt it sure is not easy. Such a drastic change in so little time [&:]
 
 I am taking a medicine which gives me horrible headaches, and some naesue (sp) and makes me feel very very tired. I can hardly live a normal life. Some days are better, but the feeling of tiredness and headache is getting to me. BP is around 96(108)-145(160) and of course that way I don t feel any different. The only good thing is my heart rate is not around 90 s anymore, it is usually around 75 or so, which makes me feel good.
 
 Wednesday I will meet with the doctor again and see if she can give me something better, if not then I hope my body will get used to it. As I have no apetite left, I am loosing weigth fast, I hope that will help too. My biggest fear is to have to get a heavier does of the same medicine, or get multiple different ones.
 
 I am hoping I won t get the other hereditary diseases from my mom s side ........

 birolDid your physician discuss what and how you eat?  Your diet could be a major factor in your blood pressure problem.  And becareful about the SAD (Standard American Diet).
 And yes, you must watch what you drink.

 I could get of BP pills all together IF I would loose about 40 lbs...easier said than done.

 birolHi Birol, sorry to hear about your hypertension. I went through kinda the same thing as you last year.[&:] My Doctor put me on blood pressure pills and said unless I dropped 30 or 40 pounds I would be on the pills for life. But unlike you the pills only made me feel better. I lost this perrsistent nagging pressure in my head (headache) once I started the pills. Only take one a day. But of course things were going fine but because the pills I was taking were not available in generic they cost me more $ each month then generic drugs would cost under my plan. I went back to the Doc and asked for another kind that were generic. Well the first day I took those I was sick as a dog. I felt awful[: (] and if sunlight hit my skin it felt like it was on fire. I endured this for 2 or 3 days then went back to the first ones I had been taking. Doc told me some of these meds have bad side effects and sometimes you have to take several different kinds to find out what is good for you. I would never ever assume to know more than the doctors but ask your Doctor about Lotrel Caps 5/10mg. They might work for you. Or at least ask for a different kind until you find the one that your body can tolerate. Good Luck and take care.

 birolThanks for all the feedback. Today I took the last sample one she (Our family doctor)  gave me. Tomorrow I take nothing and have an appointment with her Wednasday morning. I am hoping that my blood pressure won t go thru the ceiling and kill me tomorrow.  I don t know why she let a day go by like that, maybe she wants to see how it really is without medicine. 160(145)-95(100) is around where it goes around. I hate the headaches, it is such a horrible headache, makes me want to faint, sleep whatever. I sure will mention it to her and ask for a different pill. Looks like we will have to search for it.
 
 What scares me is, how I am going to do the trucking job from now on. 1,600 newspapers, sure to get tired. I am telling myself, well I ahd it and was doing and, one voice says, you should not really get tired anymore. Will sure ask the doctor. Anybody had first hand experience with this kind of thing ?
 
 
 Well, Looks like we are getting the PU , so that sure will sooth my nerves now :) [:)]
