This is Hollypop here. I just made some reservations at Yucaipa Regional Park for a couple of dates next year. The weekend of March 12 would be suitable for a rally since they have practically all the sites on one loop open.  I am in site 18. Sites 14-26 are on the same loop. Site 14 is suitable for a multi-camper group with three (?) hookups on that pull through site.  Fire rings are kind of communal. Site 18 has one, and has a giant green lawn perfect for a potluck. Each site is paved with a big semi-circular concrete area under the awning and two large picnic tables.

YRP is just a few miles off I-10, 5 miles east of Redlands, nestled in the San Bernardino mountain foothills.  This is far enough inland that the weather is generally good and warm in March, but don t hold me to that!

Cost is $22 per night for e/w/s hookups. We think this is a lovely park and a dynamite campground. Biggest campsites I have seen. During the summer they have a big waterpark open, but summer weekends are already filling up fast.  There is fishing year round.

So let s plan a spring rally! I can book up to 5 sites at once and prepay, or you can call individually and make reservations. Phone is (909) 790-3127.

GuestHere s the website but there s no map of the campground on it.

 GuestHi Holly,

Sign us up.  I have been wanting to go to this place ever since your last post about it.  How ever you want to work it as far as reservations is fine.  Are most of the sites shaded?  I would like a shaded site if possible.  If you can give me an idea of a good site, let me know and I will call to reserve it.

You said the large groupish site had hookups, do the other sites have hookups too?   Or is it primarily dry camping?
 Jacqui

 GuestHollypop here-

I don t know how to do that cool box in box thing that shows the text from a previous post so you can reply (does this make ANY sense?) but to answer Jacqui s question- all the sites are full hookups. Other nice sites are: 19 (nice view), 15, 16,  17 (pull throughs), 20 is on the inside loop but there s lots of grass all around it and there s a firepit nearby and the bathrooms are close too. Sites 21, 22, 23 and 26 are on the outside loop and looked really nice. That leaves 24 (close to the bathrooms) and 25, which are both fine too.  I would have been happy in any of them. We stayed in 17 last time and liked it well enough.  Most sites have trees but depending on time of day the camper can get a bit of sun. In March it shouldn t be too bad, though, for heat.  If you go in the summer bring the reflective bunk end blankets.  None of the sites are terribly far from the bathrooms. I think 16 had good shade IIRC.

I have a map of the campground. Maybe I can fax it to you if you want it.

Okay that s two families so far? Who else?

 GuestAh ha!

I remembered we had taken digital photos on our first drive through of this place. I think most of these photos have shots of campsites in the southern loop. We are in the northern loop which is even nicer in my opinion. But these photos will give you an idea of the look of the place.

GuestWow this place looks cool. My kids flipped when they saw the water slide. This weekend in March looks good to us. Sign us up.

GuestHolly, the pictures are very nice.  Go ahead and place us in site 19.  Let me know how you want to handle reservations.   Should I call and get ours?

 Jacqui

GuestOkay I ve reserved two sites in addition to our own. I ve put down a deposit of $22/night for OCCampers and SimiRich. Jacquie I put you in site 19 and SimiRich in site 17. Please email me offline at dhhardman@cox.net with your full name, address, etc. You can pay the balance upon arrival and I ll catch up with you later for the first night. I can t reserve more sites until we actually know who s going to occupy them.  YRP usually needs this info at the time of reservation so from this point on it will probably be easier for everyone to make their own reservations.

There s a $2 reservation fee. Dogs are allowed, on a leash of course. I forgot to ask about bringing your own firepit.

GuestHolly please sign us up also. This place sounds great. Let me know if you need any $.

 GuestHi Moose!

It s probably a better idea for you to call direct to YRP at (909) 790-3127 to reserve a spot. Site 16 is nice

Hollypop, Makes sense to me...all you have to do is highlight the text and then hit the reply button.  Sounds like a fun weekend.  I ll check into a reservation tomorrow.

GuestThanks for the insight on the reply function! I feel so much more computer savvy now.  Hope you can join us in March. And for everyone who might want to camp there during the summer you should call now for weekend reservations. All the weekends in June are already booked! The waterpark is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
