We're going camping to Joshua Tree and I have 20 gallons of extra water and the battery is fully charged. And since we belong to PUT, it's probably going to rain. Well the beer is cold and the wine is at the ready. Everyone have a great weekend.

Sounds cold and wet no matter how you slice it!  ;)  Have a great and safe time!

May the weather gods be with you this weekend.  Sounds like it could be a little wet.  Of course the weather people are more often wrong than right.  Have a great time.

we're still a go.. I am having a battery problem my dad has to check out after the last campout (when I blew the breaker by turning on the 2nd electric heater DUH!!) now my battery is overcharging...My dad should be able to fix it before the trip. if not we have full hookups I really don't need the Battery do I???

Shades of SLO, it rained on set up and take down. Now, I need some sun to dry us out. Also had one of the bunk end roof support brackets come un-welded. We did have a nice time and enjoyed eating and carousing within a motor coach due to the weather. It took 5-1/2 hours to get there due to rain and accidents, but only 3 hours to get home. We'll be ready for Yucaipa.

Hi Holly, I was just talking to our neighbors and they are interested in coming along.  I was thinking since they tent camp that we could just put them on our site.  Do you know if tents are allowed in the area we are camping in?  I know it will cost more because of the extra people but that is ok.

Also, I owe you money for the site.  Do you want a check now or I can pay you at the campout.  Either way is fine by me.

I'm not 100% positive, but I do believe they allow tents on Fri & Sat's only.
gee I just realized I have to get wood delivered, it wouldn't be a campout without my monster fire

oldmoose

I have a small supply of wood I'll be bringing. After the wood cures from all the trees I cut down in the mountains, I'll have a ready supply of wood.

Hi Jacqui-

I'm not sure about the tent policy- you should call to get the details. I can wait another couple weeks for the site money, no problem. We were out of town this weekend, we went to Phoenix and Tucson but we weren't camping.

We'll have another little baby with us at the rally- we just got a German shorthaired pointer puppy. We named her Tess. She is so sweet. This is her first night home. Old lady Daisy isn't too impressed by her so it appears our 20 lb tomcat is Tess'  new favorite animal companion.

See you there!

Well after enduring a wet weekend a week ago, we got our pu "up" to dry out and replace the broken bracket for one bunk end bow support. Boy was it dirty in side from the Joshua Tree campground. One the good side, it was mainly sand so it cleaned up easy. After getting the canvas and everything inside cleaned up, we closed the trailer. Paula and I also cleaned both sides of the awning which was a mess including some mildew on the underside. We used the PUT awning cleaner and it worked great.  After that was done I saw how really dirty the outside was from all of the road grime. I had a well worn scrubbie to help clean the ouside. I use a Turtle Wash/Wax and it finally looked nice and clean. We're ready for Yucaipa now.

FYI--I called Yucaipa and on their message system, they allow tents in the RV sites only on Friday and Saturday nights.  It is also $13 a night for the tent.  Just thought I would pass on the information in case someone wants to bring a long friends that don't have a camper.

Hey gang- I have bad news- We won't make it to the rally! I found out I have to go to Washington DC for a business trip. I have to leave Sunday morning, and Dave doesn't want to camp for just one night. So- if anyone wants our site (#18)  you can have it. You can send me an email to confirm, I'll call the park to change the name on the reservation, and you can send me the $22 for the first night. I have already paid the first night.

I hate to miss the rally- we were looking forward to it. My company is going through a huge reorganization. I will be getting a promotion effective at the end of April, so this trip is to figure out a lot of very important details.

Sooooo- anyone want site #18? First person to email me can take it!

What a shame Holly, especially since you were the inspiration for this rally!  I wish we could take you up on it, but it's my stepson's b-day.  Not to worry, there's a bunch of campers who'll gladly step in.
