Joe BuskirkNot sure where we will camp yet, thinking of some place in Pa..

WE keep our camper in one side of the garage...

Joe BuskirkNot sure when or where the last trip will be, but the next trip is up to Cape Cod for Columbus Day to pick up the TrailManor.  Hoping to get at least one more trip south in before the snow flies.  We have been keeping the Pop up in the garage but the TrailManor won t fit.  For now it will stay on a driveway extension at my friend s house.  I traded him the pop up for parking priviledges.  Still looking for some unused larger garage or warehouse space to keep the new trailer protected from the elements.

Joe BuskirkWe are leaving Friday at noon and staying in Vermont until Monday, for our last trip of the year (unless we decide to get crazy like a few years ago and drag the camper out Christmas week and head sount...).

After this trip, we ll park the camper along side the garage, put our car canopy over it, after winterizing and cleaning out anything that rodents will find attractive from inside of it (towels, sheets, all chemicals, etc.) Then I ll put a bucket of Damp-Rid in it and check it every two weeks until May.

 Joe BuskirkJoe,

We are going to Gettysburg, PA Thursday until Sunday this week. We are staying at the RoundTop Camp Grounds. This is it for the season. Getting the wheel bearing packed and the brakes checked on the 10th. They are also going to winterize for me. I will be storing it at the base again this year. This is earlier then I wanted but the rain is all I can handle this year. We need to get together to see if we can plan out some time next year camping together.[:)]

Joe BuskirkIf DH gets a job soon, we ll have one last trip.

The PU does have some warranty work to be done, and when we decided that we re finished, it will go in for this and not in any hurry to get it back.  Once it is done, it will stay in our driveway as the last one did.  (DH cleaned the snow off the PU before he cleaned the sidewalk and driveway.)

Joe BuskirkWe re camping at Eagle s Peak in Robesonia, PA (near Reading) the weekend of October 24-26 for one of their Halloween weekends.  Part of our take down routine will be to winterize the camper there before coming home.

As for storage, we used to keep our pop-up in the garage over the summer and winter, but the snowmobile " kicked"  it out.  Our hybrid is WAY too large for our garage, so it stays next to the garage.

Joe Buskirkit will go in my really huge, manly and virile garage.  along with the dogde ram pickup, the grand am, the escort sw, the sub compact kubota tractor, the cub cadet garden tractor the honda hurricane motorcycle, the two bikes, the furnace and a bunch of other stuff.  [8D]

we camped last week end at alum creek state park in ohio...as a matter of fact, i just got finish washing off the camper box so TBPB can wax it, as well as scrubbing the plastic mat (which loves to retain mooshed bug parts) and i already scubbed the carpeting i put over it right outside the camper door...we will be putting up in the garage today so i can clean it out, and remover some stuff for the winter...like spare linen and mircowave, ect.

Joe BuskirkI say, " camping s over for us this season" , DH says, " one more trip, that s what we have a heater for!"   Thing is, he wants to go the the Adirondacks one more time, but with the forecast of snow for the weekend, I think we ll stay put.
So, it s time to popup the popup in the driveway, give it a thorough cleaning, take out everything that s not nailed down, and push it behind the shed.
Sure wish we had a garage or barn to store it in, but no such luxuries at our place.  One of these years, we hope to build an addition on to the shed, just for our " cabin" . [:D]

Gone-Camping

Joe BuskirkYou mean there is an end to camping season??? [;)]

Well, I ve planning on going SOMEWHERE on Columbus Day Weekend, probably the Blue Ridge.

I ve got reservations at Ocean Waves in Hatteras for Nov 12th weekend, but not sure they even still have a campground left down there. We figured they need a little more time before we call them and ask about that!!!

Probably put the trailer up for the winter following that, though I ve considered a run to Mass for Thanksgiving with the family, and if I do that, I m bringing my motel on wheels with me!!!

Early December we ll be done for the season, and begin the winterization process. Not likely to see much of a freeze around here, but it can and does for a week here and there during our 3 month winter! By early March we ll be ready to go camping again.

Will store the trailer right where it always sits, beside the garage where I can work on on it, in it, and around it. Winter is not idle time, it s " Mod time"  for me!!!!

 Joe BuskirkSeason OVER????  NO!!![:o]

We re leaving Saturday morning for at least 9 days close to the Blue Ridge. Then we have a Halloween trip planned for the 25th weekend.  We ve never gone anywhere that does Halloween before. We have no children at  home anymore but have had a blast getting stuff to give out to the ones who will be trick or treating, buying Halloween tacky lights, etc...    We re hoping for a long weekend around Veteran s day and as many other weekends as we can manage.  If we have to winterize before all that we will and just not use the water.  No big deal.   Sure has been cold here this week!  Way colder than we normally are this time of year.  Of course, none of the weather has been normal here since last winter!

Joe BuskirkWell I hate to say it, but I think our camping is done for the year[:@], unless we go out in November.  We are leaving next Friday for a 2 week non-camping [:o] vacation.  I am giving the PU a good cleaning and then it will be put away in the neighbors garage.

4campinfoxes

Joe BuskirkI m hoping to get at least one more trip in this month before calling it quits.  As for where it stays - we rent a garage for it so we have more room for our pickup next to our garage (rather than on the slope of the driveway where it stays throughout the summer!).

Joe BuskirkWe have 3 more trips planned. The last will be Thanksgiving at George L Smith SP in south Georgia. I will winterize the electric water pump on the early Nov. trip as any trips between then and April will have hookups.

After the T-day trip we will put it in one side of the garage. If we go in Jan or Feb we will push it out and back in for the trip.

Joe BuskirkWe plan on ending this years camping season in mid December, probably with a trip to the coast.

If luck is on our side, we will pull out around the second week of January to begin the 2004 season.  [8D]

Joe BuskirkAll year long it s home is in the garage.  It went down into the 30 s last night, so I guess it s time to start thinking about [link=http://www.title-3.com/Winterize.htm]Winterizing the pop up[/link].
