QuoteOne more thing Gene....removing snow from the windshield is going to be a whole new challenge now. Get the longest telescoping snowbrush you can (a small push broom also is handy), and either a step that goes over the front tire or installs where the front liscense plate holder is, they are worth every cent in the winter.

Thanks for the idea for a Christmas present for DW.  It is her truck.

I plan on sleeping in on the snow days.[:)]

Some of us can actually reach the all parts of the windshield just by standing on the running boards!  [;)]

GeneFWe ve got an Eagle cap on the Ford, plus running boards. We bought it used, so this equipment was already on it.
I need a cap for 2 reasons- Wisconsin winters and  because of all the drywall tools I carry-2 6ft ladders, 8ft. stretch plank, benches, buckets, etc. The cap has the extra height bump-up which is real handy.
The running boards are cab length only(from the front wheel well to the back of the cab.) Very handy in cleaning the windshield and entering and exiting the cab.[8D]

Miller TymeJust want to say thanks for all the advice and food for thought.  You were all very helpful with your suggestions.

We have decided to go ahead with the truck cap as this seems to be the best way for us with the intended use of the truck.

Having it put on on Friday[:)]

 Thanks again
