There are so many fees to be paid, it is frusturating. WHen the process starts, you fork up 150 immediately, and keeps going on from there. Just to apply is 150 ! What a rip off !

birolBirol, if it doesn t look like it will be worth it, please don t feel bad about saying " Nope, it s not going to work"   You might be able to take all the extra money you will spend on all the fees and combine them with the $$ you would ve spent on this one amd buy yourself something good in Canada!  We don t have anything lined up for ourselves, so there s no hard feelings!!  [;)]

Although we will be a little bummed we couldn t visit with you and your family!![:)]
 keep us posted!

birolGee.. That kinda stinks for you. I really have no bad feelings about you not buying it at all.. I think for what the camper is (Basicly a tent box, With no options) I woulds seriously think about looking for one up there.. You have to be able to find a camper for 2 grand or so.. Sounds like the range you may be spending to get this one.. and IMHO, it is not worth that much..

If you all do not not hear from us for a while, it is because I am trying to get the new house hooked up for the internet.. I have to wait a couple weeks for DSL which is going to kill me.. and I have to fing a way to get a dial up modem working untill then.. Keeping in mind, I have to have my computer for work use.. Worst case, I set up shop at my Dad s house in Mass and work from there untill I get DSL, But that wil really stink and leave everyone alone...

Well my friend good luck, and please don t sweat it if it seems like it is not going the way you want it to..

QuoteImporting is a lot more complicated and costly then I thought, sighhhhh. I am trying to sort out the mess right now ........

Exporting from Canada is no easier, Birol...My son has been working with some guy selling an Audi close to Toronto for probably 7 or 8 months now and is having nothing but problems getting everything done so he can get this car over the border.   Personally, I think either he would have gotten frustrated by now, or the seller would have gotten frustrated by now, but I think they ve both gotten stubborn, refuse to give up, and are determined this sale will eventually take place.  ;>  It s been a nightmare!

Hi Andrea,

I have sent you a personal e-mail, I am sorry for the delay, but I had to do some more searching before giving a final reply.

birolSo even if someone hooked it up and brought it over the border, it still wouldn t work? I mean, could someone hook it up like they are going to camp and then come back without it?

 Just wondering....

I think they would be asked what happened to it ..... I thought about putting Ontario plates on it and just coming in with it, but, was afraid to do so, as they knew that I did not exit with it. Our customs exchange information, that s why there are no exit checkpoints ....... They would make a note the windstar coming into US, and while going back to Canada, I would definitely get into trouble.

Same for anyone who goes back to states without the trailer, they would be asked what happened to it I guess ....... I am so sad & upset  [>:]

Thougth about it, they would ask for the registration papers, lost is meaningless, because based on VIN, they can always issue new registration papers. They would know at once that this trailer has never been registered. And you can not get anything without it ever being registered from a dealership. I gave every possibility a long thought before having to  give up [:(]

birolSo, what you are saying is, that if I went into Ontario with DH and our camper, and while there decided that we didn t want it anymore and sold it to someone, we would get into some kind of trouble?   We couldn t just tell the customs people, " we decided to sell the camper to a friend"  ?   I mean, really, is it that bad?   No subterfuge or fibs, just downright honesty, we sold it.   Oh, but then you would have made money and would have to pay some kind of duty, right?   Okay, why couldn t you have  given  it as a gift?   Never mind, I just haven t had enough coffee yet this morning.  It s making me babble.
