Before you tell me this is not the Campground Review section, I'm not writing a review.

How many folks have been there?


Prior to moving to Maryland, I was a Florida resident so I made it to Disney two or three times a year.  My first FW trip was in about 73 (tent camping).

So far I have convinced the DW to go each December, so anyone going to be there soon??

Never been there. Hope to go there someday, either with little ones  or when we get a newer camper for longer trips. Of course, every time I say that, I end up dragging our ol' '86 farther and farther.

Hi Tim,
We've been to FW 9 times but never tent camped, I do the Disney marathon every year and we'll be there January 9 to the 15. The last time we were there was for 5 days in July including the 4th. One of the main reasons we got our camper was to stay at FW, I 've often thought we would run into you while staying there. My DW and DD's love FW as to where I would prefer one of our great State Parks. I miss my campfires and the rustic feel of camping, FW is the only private campground I've been to other than one I stayed at in Borglum, SD outside Mt. Rushmore. The best part of camping at FW for me is that we're at Disney . BTW we're headed to Highland Hammocks SP at Sebring this weekend.

We are making our first trip Next June/July.  We will be there for my birthday on the July 2nd and for the 4th of July.  Reservations are already in and vacation approved.  Now we just have to wait 9 more months.

We'll probably be there around the same time as you next year, we like to go for the 4th and to celebrate both DD's birthdays, 6th and the 8th. We're also from Jersey originally, Elizabeth. Used to work down the shore at Seaside back in the late 60's.

We plan on going when our DS is at least 5 years old with the rest of the "1st time parenting group"-- a group through the hospital we joined when DS was ~3 mos. old, all the kids have birthdays within 2 months of each other.  We wanted the kids to be old enough to have memories of the experience.  So, our trip is at least 3 years out.  Can't wait.

Yep, we'll be there at the same time.  We live in the Fort Monmouth area.  My wife is from here but I am a recent transplant from Poughkeepsie and Rochester, NY (and 2 years in Baltimore, MD).  When it gets closer, maybe we can make arrangements to meet.

My wife and I tent camped there twice before my son was born and we camped there (the three of us) in our pop up in 2001.  We also own a time share in Orlando and stayed there this past summer so I guess that doesn't count.  We will be back to FW in another two years, by far the finest campground we have ever stayed in.

There in Feb 03 for 10 days.  We had a great time.  DD, DSL and GSs (twins - 2.5 yr) stayed in other WDW property at same time.  We will go back soon.  In previous times stayed at Wilderness Lodge and Old Key West at WDW.  It is about an 8 hr drive, but well worth it - not just for young kids - also for the kids of all ages.  Ft. Wildneress is a great campground.

We stayed there in 2001 the last week of March and we had so much fun there that you almost didn't have to go into any of the parks.  Bathrooms were really clean.
