I know it was a bunch of money, but it was cheaper than the dealer's option

When we bought our new Suburban this summer we did not get the option for the DVD and screen.  It was going to be almost $1300.00 from the factory.  Just to much money for my wallet.

But, the other day I bought this from Radio Shack.

Go Vision

We can leave the 13in. television at home.  I was never keen about putting it in the camper while it was on the road.  I was afraid that the jarring might break something.  But this new one will be in the TV with us and it gives us a lot more capabilities than what the one that would have been built into the Suburban.

We will be taking a trip to Oklahoma over Thanksgiving, so I will let everyone know how it worked with 4 teenagers and a Mother-in-Law.  I think now I have to look for a wireless headphone option to keep Mom content.  Anyone know of one that will do what I need?

I'd go back to Radio Shack - they should be able to help you.

I really hate to burst your bubble here....We bought a similar set-up from Circuit City for about half that price. It was an "out-of-the-box" model with the same warranties. It has the ability to add another monitor & I can hook up a VCR to the unit, too.  It's an Audiovox --I forget the model.  Also, the monitors can be used in conjunction with those Gameboy

I have to agree Dave, $1300 is too much for a TV that you will never get to watch!!
We had been using a 9" TV/VCR in the Safari, held between the two front seats in a bag, but only 3 of the 4 kids could see it from their seats.
Now with the new Crew-cab, there is no room for the TV, so we have been looking at different options.
I like the fact the Go Vision has a TV Tuner, as most of the portable DVD players we've looked at don't have the tuner.

What we are thinking of getting are 2 or 3 DVD players, with 5.8" screens, and at $180 each, is almost the same price as your 10" one. Then I can have 3 different movies playing at a time, so hopefully everyone will be happy
I'll still have to bring the 9" TV/VCR so we can watch regular TV when camping.

I am still waiting for the prices to come down, but I think it looks really cool. :)   We just spent 14 days with the the 10 inch TV/VCR in a bag, in the car with the XBox hooked to it.  DS isn't allowed to play it non-stop, but it sure helps the time go by easier for him (we drove 24 hours in the last 2 days).
