I had a system, that hooked up to Prodigy , IIRC at 1200 baud rate. It was a 286 computer and ran at 24 MHz, in TURBO MODE. Spent a lot of time on it.

My first modem was 300 baud.  Hooked to a XT (8086)  running a 10Mhz And I thought I really had something.

Before home modems were very common at all, I had a Timex computer that had 2K of RAM, and was expandable to 16K!!! I was so excited when I got the expansion memory! It would do graphics and all kinds of things for only 16K.

My first computer was a commodore 64 with a cassette tape add on for storage.  I purchased a 300 baud modem and ran up our long distance bill

Our first computer had two 5 and 1/4 inch floppy drives and a state of the art 20 megabit hard drive.  Wow we didn't have to load DOS every time we turned the computer on.  It ran at 4.6 Mhz (standard speed) and in turbo it ran at 10 Mhz.

I had a Commodore 64 as a first computer, then graduated to an IBM clone with 300 baud modem.  I used it mostly for business.  I was also one of the first in the area to get a fax machine.

I remember, I was working on the steam chest in the USS Puffer, Homeport San Diego. A Rep. from GE was there too. he had a handheld calculator... It did all 4 functions, and only cost $200. The thing was probably 3 inches wide and 5 inches long. And $200, Now they give them away. Boy how things have changed!
