First snow of the season ......

Went to the back door to let the dog out a while ago, and can smell the snow on the air.  I always have mixed feelings love the smell, love to see the snow falling, hate it once it's on the roads and gets all 'bleghy'  and HATE being cold.   The weatherman says we are going to get a big snow here this weekend, should be starting soon.    While it won't be our first snow of the season, I think it will be the real beginning of the snow that stays with us.  I think that this is a combination of stuff being sent down by Birol, and also Lake effect precipitation.

You are mistaken Toni, we get the snow from you Michigan people    When we were visiting our friends in Hancock, MI last year, we couldn't believe that it was already snowing is Septemper , that was a shock. But it was beautiful, so soft and covering all the dirt and mud ...........

You know that you are asking for a big big snow storm ! Just enjoy the mild weather, it is also very nice here  :S  :W

WHen we move to the new house, we will again have a nice big driveway, I wonder if I can shovel snow ...... or do I need a new  toy A Snow Blower ! ! !

We love the snow here- hiking, snow-shoeing and even mountain biking in it are our favorites, so I say bring it on!!!

I love seeing the snow if we get any of it.  It's beautiful to see it falling and then, it warms up and is melted in a couple of days.  That's the kind of snow I like.  Of course we got a big snow that shut things down for about a week around here and it was a big surprise.:eek:   I just don't go out much when it's like that.....too many silly drivers to watch out for.

Still waiting for snow here- camper's been put away for 2 months, all the leaves are gone, snow blower is all tuned up, just put new u-joints on the 4x4,-

Cindy, I am sure Birol will write a glowing review of your exclusive resort and you and the family may wake some nice night and find yourselves with a pool full of PUT members having a grand time.  But just go back to sleep and pretend you dont know they are there or they will insist on knowing what you plan to serve them for breakfast!~

Okay, I'm not sure just what happened, but this is Michigan and we all know that you can't ever trust the weather, or the weatherman in Michigan.   Not only did I get it wrong about it snowing yesterday (it really did feel and smell like it, tho) today it's actually in the 60's.   Can you believe it??!!    But, now they say that tomorrow it's s'pose to get cold and the snow will be coming in.   Whatever.   At least this gave us a chance to open the camper up in the driveway and clean, strip the beds, mop the floor and wash everything down, and close it up again.   (it was a muddy mess)  About a half hour after we finished, it rained like ..well...hard.   Thing is, DH and a friend, and maybe DS are taking it back up north for the last weekend of deer season next weekend.   They have the day after Turkey day off, so will have a 3 day chance to add even more to the winter larder.   Then I'll have to clean it out again.  Yuk! :eek:   (Aren't these smilies fun??)

Snow will surprise us here in NC (when and if we get a light dusting of it) by appearing suddenly after some of the nice 60+ and 70+ degree days.  We then wonder what happened.  Heck, when the weather man even mentions snow around here, the grocery store run out of bread and milk in an instant.:eek:   I personally think he owns stock in those stores.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner for the family yesterday. The great grandkids were playing outside in  shortsleeve shirts. A lot of us ate outside on the picnic table. The tempature was in the upper 60's. Today the high was 32. I am ready for spring.

We are having weird weather too, SUnday was a nice 63 degrees or so, we walked with shirts, today it is only 32 degrees, and flurries in the air, brrrrrrrr. COld weather is here to stay I guess, just when we are moving ..

Great Two cm's of snow expected (close to an inch). And tomorrow I have to go for the paper collection, winds at 50 m/h and snow, and I gotta be out, yummy  :W  :W  :W  :S

Man ditributing those envelopes under that rain was quite something ! Now they are expecting 1" of snow and wwinds upto 50 mph ! If I never post again, you will all know that I died on duty !
