Regarding the board,THIS forum & FLUFF

Kelly beat me to it. Just use the smiley face with the dropdown arrow, once your have the enhanced toolbar set up. Choose your smily and it should appear in your posts. I use the - to minimize it to my own toolbar so it is there the next time I need it without having to click on it so many times.
 
Edit: forgot to say that in the menu of smilies, you scroll to bottom and select "show all.....smilies", then minimize to save it in your computer toolbar so that whenever you need smilies, they are right there.  Try it as this is easier than selecting from the drop down menus each time.

Debby, I have to say just one thing.   Do not ever let yourself think that no one would care what you may have to say!    It may be that someone won't always like what you have to say, but that's how it is when you're part of a family.  But, what you feel is always important, and your input here has always meant a lot.

And yes, like you, I have come here numerous times when I needed a laugh and have often found it in posts like the ones Birol makes--for example, check out his thread on Snowing.  Somehow, he has managed to use a simple weather report as a method for finagling an invitation to come and swim in Cindy's new pool LOL

I'm glad to have you here again Nightowl, but no more so than I am glad to have EVERYONE here.

Sometimes it seems like people only bring up the big names here as people who make an impact on us.  But I know there have been times when someone who I've only seen in passing will post and what they have said sticks with me, whether it's a tip, a recipe, a comment about someone else's post... whatever.  We all get a lot out of this site and without realizing it, we all make impacts on other peoples lives, no matter how big or small of an impact it is.   For the most part, the things I have gleaned from this site have been pretty wonderful!  I have learned more than a lot and made some friends... what more could I ask for!

MM, your post  :S  expresses so well my own feelings about just sort of encountering someone unexpectedly here--maybe someone I never really  "met" before--who has  written something so funny, whimsical, or wise that I just break into a huge smile sitting at my keyboard.  And it's the same with recipes or tips--they dont always come from those with the most posts or the most well-known board names.  

This personal aspect  of PUT is at the heart of why several of us get exercised when friends get chided sternly for no reason at all and why we have continued--through thick and thin--to feel loyal to the place.  While camping is  is what drew us  here at first,  it is the sense of personal connection which has kept us here.

And if the board loses this warmth and feeling of acceptance and caring, then it will be "over" for many of us.

(I am going out and chain our hot tub to the floor now; you just never know when Birol will appear and try to take it back to Whitby  for use  as a miniature skating rink. :J  )

Not to steal the thread, but, how many of you people have Hot Tubs ? I could go around borrowing them one week at a time and have my very own continously that way

BB, it depends:  if one plans to DRINK from the hot tub  :eek:  after Birol climbs out, then I suppose one might consider it a soup kitchen of a sort (Ohhhh, ICK!)

But as long as we keep on using these icons, it is still a message board :S

I think it is very logical that you don't come in when we are using the hottub.  In case you forgot, the same goes for the pool too  :W  :S  

If we can take that trip down south this Christmas (Which we most probably can't), I look forward to meeting all the FLA PUT'ers as much as possible ....
