Things have picked up a little here.  Feeling a little bit more like old times here.

Yes! It does seem that the number of posts have risen.  They have also been more interesting.  I am glad, because this is my favorite site.

It seems like things are more interesting lately.  I love this place when it's fun.

yes, but it would be dull as dirt  without Birol.  I mean, without him, who would there be to put in Cindy's giant stew pot?  He  had me laughing hysterically earlier over his claim that he is now "poisioned meat" because of some medicine he takes.

Speaking of Stew Pots--went to the recipe forum and there was Shaorn's wonderful Creamed Cheese Chicken recipe (sigh--what an INSPIRING place!)  and was reminded of all our  wonderful, heated discussions with Suzie and the others (including Al) back in "olden times" about the proper care of  cast iron and how superior it is as a camp cooking vessel.   I look back and think how young and innocent we all were.  Does anyone else do this?

Another big  happy sigh :p  and a  :W

NightOwl, of course we all do reminisce.  I remember all the virtual campouts, those folks with persistent problems of whether the stabilizers are put down before or after leveling;) , all the neat camper modifications, Topcat and all his gobbling up ever last morsel of food and his showing up anytime there was food mentioned, MrGadget and FlyFisherman with his trout fishing, many other nice people.....  I guess ours is a maturing group of campers.  A few newcomers (remember the correct terminology and the argument of not calling anyone newbies?) are now over in the general with their camping questions.  That brings back quite a bit of memories.  Also, I thought it neat to revisit the Stupid Pop Up tricks over in the general forum.  Yes, we can learn lots from each other and have fun at the same time.  This is a great place to come and relax.

Yup I noticed too, it is very nice. Kinda good for the head, sorta keeps me in touch with camping when I'm not. Two weeks to our next trip, we're going nuts waiting. So it's sure nice to have this site.

I know many of you won't like what I have to say but as always I'm going to say it anyways.......  (where's the little devil icon?)
 It looks like Bearbaits post may have given this board the kick in the ^$$
 it needed......a little controversty is always good to get the blood flowing again! :)

I have to admit when I read that other post from Birol, I was reading it quickly and I thought.... "I don't want to eat his meat!!!! :eek: "  Then when I thought about what I had just thought about it had me practically rolling on the floor!

Nope, just my observation on what possibly kicked thing into gear.....not looking to argue the point. It is what it is, just one board members opinion :D ;)

the board has always had slow times, people are busy with family stuff or work or trips or computer problems.  Then they seem to find time to come back here and join their friends in having fun and thinking about camping we have done and are going to do.  And the more positive the posts are, the more people who are willing to risk sticking  their heads up  out of their burrows (or foxholes) and say something. :S  :W

Sometimes I get so frustrated that even the use of emoticons doesn't do a very good job sometimes at conveying the tone of a post I make. Here I was looking to be facetious and it came off sounding like I'm trying to pick a fight. :eek:
