Last Saturday night, I received the latest virus bug as a gift. My throat began to tickle and I started coughing. Soon, my nose was draining & I was coughing up stuff from my chest. As Sunday wore on, I developed a fever which finally broke Monday morning at abour 2:30. Went to work, half dead, & found 3 others had the same thing happen. The coughing has almost subsided today & I feel a bit better. But, I had to give it to someone & who better than good old Peggy. She started coughing on Tuesday night & wasn't able to go to my sisters for dinner with the family today. When leaving, my sister packed all the leftovers for the siblings & I said for her to just prepare a dinner plate for Peggy as we wouldn't want to eat the leftovers tomorrow too. I brought the plate home to a medium hungry Peggy who popped it into the microwave. When she sat down to eat, she asked "where's the turkey"? Seems my sister had just filled the plate with stuff on the table & neglected to put any turkey or ham on it!

I called & thanked my sister for the vegetarian meal & we all had a good laugh. Peggy likes vegetables & ate everything, never really missing the turkey. Tomorrow morning I'll pickup a small cooked one & tomorrow night we'll have Thanksgiving dinner again with MEAT! :( ;)

This just goes to show that Turkey is not necessary to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.  Hey, "No turkeys were harmed in serving this meal.";) :D

Oh, my poor babies, I hope that you're both feeling better by now. But, you mean man, to give that awful stuff to Peggy, when she is always so sweet to you!! Anyway, enjoy the turkey that you have today. But Thanksgiving veggies are always the best, anyway. Even tho we had both turkey and ham yesterday, we had all the favorites, besides the mashed 'tades and gravy, the sweet potatoes, the scalloped corn, the squash (DDIL made squash rings that were just delicious, with a little orange juice on them) broccoli with toasted almonds, stuffing, well, you get the idea.

Thanks, Birol, this is the second time that this has happened to me, and I don't get it, I posted it in black, and it showed up invisible.   Oh well, I just deleted mine, and will let Birol carry my message. LOL

You can go back and use the edit feature, highlight the missing text area and then choose the font you want.  It should then show up when you take off the highlighting with your cursor and click of mouse.  Be sure to save changes and your ink will reappear.;)

Any other funny stories ?

Acts 2:38 girl

This really isn't "funny", but yesterday, a few hours after my in-laws left my DH decided to have a piece of Apple pie his Mom made.  His mom always talks about all the things she makes from scratch, etc. so in that perspective it is pretty funny because the crust was store bought (no biggie, do it myself ALL the time!) But 1/2 the apples in the pie were mixed in with canned pie filling.  If real apples were NOT added in, we would have blessed her because it would've been great.  However she must have added some more sliced apples that sat in a bowl near my father-in-law (who smokes heavily) because the fresh apples tasted like cigarettes.  That was the sad part.  Do I tell her to be careful?  I'm thinking "No" because she is pretty sensitive about her cooking.  I, myself, would like to know if something is getting cross-contaminated in my kitchen but I know I'm not a great cook.  Neither is my mil, but she tries so darn hard that you've got to give her credit!  :)
