Possible water system mod?

I am thinking on upgradeing my current water pump(shurflo 2.8gpm) to a flojet sensor vsd pump(4.5gpm).In my current system the pump makes alot of noise and cycles alot, even though I have tried to make it quiet down and the pump is in good shape. I have thought about putting on a accumulator tank, but still would have to put up with the noise from the pump.
The flojet says that it is silent and doesn't require an accumulator tank.
The only problem I have is if the 3/8 PEX tubing is to small to handle the new flow.Has anyone upgraded their pump?

Go with the Accumulator Tank.  After installation it makes the pump virtually silent.  I couldn't believe it until I did it.

That way no need to change the pipes.

Scott, why would you have to upgrade the pipes? Does the flojet list a minimum pipe diameter? Wouldn't a couple of reducing connectors allow the new pump to mate with the existing tubing? Granted, you may not get the full 4.5 gpm, but surely you'd get more than 2.8 gpm. Just curious.

Tim, I had no idea an accumulator tank eliminated all the sound associated with the factory pumps. I thought they simply evened out the flow pressure.

Hmmmm.... shifting brain into deschnitzification mode. ;)

Take pic of the deschnitzifications that you make. :p

Wanna guess at what's on my Christmas wish list? (Hint, it doesn't use film and helps in the transfer of visual information from puter to puter) And no, my dear, I haven't forgotten I owe you some leaf-spring comparison pics. :o

(anti-fluff disclaimer and obligatory on-topic content explanation: the above post concerns any potential picture and information exchange should the hypothetical accumulator tank actually be installed. :D )

It dosn't remove all the sound, but it seems to reduce them to almost nothing.  I was amazed.

I can only assume that the bladder in the tank absorbs the "shock" of the water being pulsed out of the pump and delivers water with an even pressure.  This seems to reduce the shock/movement of the pipes.

Thanks everyone for you input. Tim5055 I did look at your mod on the accumulator and is still a possibility.(Just have to stop the noise)

I did a test on the water system and this is what I came up with.
 Water tank full of water.
Hooked up to electricity(power from converter to run pump)
 Bleed entire system of air.
Pump builds pressure to 45 psi then shuts off.
pump turns on at 26 psi.
With outside shower on and the pump running it maintains a pressure of 16 psi.

The flojet pump will provide 30 psi and a variable flow rate(depending on demand). This will increase my pressure to 30 psi, BUT will it still provide more water to the sink and showers through the 3/8 PEX tubing? I like my shower, but would prefer more pressure and volume, and at the sink too.
