Does your friction anti-sway controller groan?

My anti-sway controller used to groan if I had it set tight enough to control the sway then made a low speed turn.  I fixed this by using a little of the blue stuff that you put on your disk brakes to control squeal.

BTW: I have posted the same information under a different heading in the general forum, but thought it was handy enough information to post separately in the Mr. Fix it area too.

mikewilley,

Yes, only when it is too tight or has to much rust on it. Coke will take the rust off the pad.

My Reese Mini-350 will groan on tight turns, particularly if the ground/road is uneven.  But in normal operation, it doesn't make a lot of noise.

Mine only groans when I have it cranked on real tight.  Then I loosen it. :o

Mine seems to groan more in wet weather. I was pulling out of the driveway (which is a hard right turn) during some damp weather one time and it sounded awful! However, after traveling awhile the noise went away. Maybe I had it cranked on too tight. It doesn't do it all the time and only on fairly tight turns when it does.

Usually only groans when I leave the driveway.  I don't do anything about it and that is the last I hear it, with the possible exception of very slow rolling in campgrounds.
