Quote from: garym053Hi! Please don't take offense, but if I was prescribed a humidifier (which I was and have, by the way) and my R/T wouldn't give it to me because there is a "chance" that being male I wouldn't clean it properly, I'd find a new R/T!

Thanks for the input Gary! No offense taken, I appreciate your help. She did mention that if I decided that I wanted one anyhow to give them a call and they would mail one out to me.  The Tech at the Sleep Lab said that he usually always puts humidifiers on the results / recommendation sheet because it is worth it.  The RT that I saw is part of a group that my insurance company uses for this type of service (cpap, respiratory equip., etc.).  When I looked at the sheet that has my titration results, it said that a machine w/heated humidifier and a Profile Confort Gel (small) mask was recommended.  When the equipment company (above) gave me the equipment, it was without the humidification and a classic mask with her guarantee (99.9%) that it would be a better fit for me.  It's amazing how a person who never saw me before can know better than someone who was right by me for 16 hours during my sleep study and actually was fitting me with equipment.

It's a matter of life and breath.
