sorry I'm being a posting pest but my DD is throwing a pre-Christmas slumber party and this board is keeping me somewhat sane through it all. Today my DH told me he and my brother were going out to do an errand and then told me I had to leave when they came back home and I was not to go in the garage when I got home!! My mind went into overdrive thinking maybe they got me a popup with a shower and toilet!!!  I tried to fake them out and left the house as instructed...however....I couldn't take the suspense and tried to spy on them!!  I drove down the street and then cut around through back neighborhoods to see if I could see my brother's truck and whatever goodie they went out to get me!!!  I know, I'm really bad!   Alas, they were faster than me and already gone by the time I got there!!!

DH has locked the garage and blocked the windows...can you believe that!!!!  (can you blame him LOL) I'm sure it's not a popup because the yard gate is blocked by snow and they could never have done it without making tracks!!!!  I think it's a home gym...which would be nice, I could use it!! But to be honest I'm not sure and now I have to wait till Christmas Day!!!   Oh the suspense of it all...anyone good at picking locks??????!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's an upright freezer or extra frige you have been wanting.  Maybe it's a new car.  Maybe it's a new tow vehicle.  Maybe it's a new camping kitchen...Maybe......:D :J

Yep...I've gotta put Holly's upright freezer in the garage sometime this week, and figure out a reason to have her stay out of the garage! And she's just a few feet away as I type this.

Funny thing happened this weekend. Our garage was a wreck, so I decided to clean it up a bit, just because I don't like the clutter, but I will also need a clear path for the freezer when I go get it.

When I was done cleaning, she looked at the garage, and said, "Now you have room for my Christmas present!"

At first, I thought she had figured it out, but I realized she just meant it about the room and space that was available now for a BIG present. I just joked and played it down, and said, "Yeah, I'm putting a new camper in there, or maybe a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 700!" (an atv...which we really need, since we only have two)

Whew! Thought she knew about the freezer for a second!

Maybe he was fixing the garage up so the in-laws could move in... Merry Christmas!!:):):):)

Acts 2:38 girl

maybe he bought you "both" a new truck!

Or it could be something really silly like a pair of earings or something!  That would get you good for spying!

oh no not the parents again!  We did that one a couple of years ago!  Built them a nice little addition off the garage...the ulcer I developed while they stayed with us almost killed me!!!!! They now have their own lovely place in the next town over!!   I would love a new truck, but I know it wouldn't fit in the garage!!  I just can't stand this kind of suspense!!  Trying to pry it out of the kids but they're holding their ground!!!!  He's pretty darn proud of himself this year keeping me guessing.   You see one year, I just couldn't take seeing my beautifully wrapped present sitting under the tree so like the skill of a surgeon I opened it up, took a peek  and "sewed" it back up!!!!  It was a pair of skates...he set me up knowing I'd peek!!!!!  But I never fessed up that I knew, I acted very surprised and then he gave me my surprise present, a little pair of diamond stud earrings I'd always wanted!!

camperoo, someone once told the that the difference between in-laws and outlaws is that the outlaws are wanted.:D :J   I once saw a walk in closet with a roll away bed in it and told the future buyers it was a M-I-L suite and the other time I saw this nice little basement room with outside access only and called it a M-I-L suite.   Have to be careful who you say that to cause some of them are the M-I-L!  Anyway, back to the garage,  guys everywhere will be cleaning out their garages in hopes to throw a decoy on what the gift will be this year.:D ;)

Maybe it is one of those cars that they advertise on TV where the key drops out of the train set...

I got mine already, Raymond calls it my "electric chair" (human touch massage chair same as the one at Brookstones but cheaper through Sharper Image).

No presents for Me or Raymond under our tree, but that is by choice. Lord knows I have too much camping equipment already.

Hi gang, Merry Christmas everyone!!!  Well very exciting today!!  Kids had us up bright and early unfortunately after daddy and I not getting to bed until 2 am Christmas Eve!!  Came downstairs, got our stockings and began the present opening....but low and behold nothing big enough for me to warrant my gararge suspicion!!  Everyone was excited about their gifts and we finished opening up everything...and then finally DH said...ok honey let's go outside for something Santa brought you!!  Oh my...I was about to explode from curiousity....kids  happily threw on jackets over their pjs to follow us outside.   Even had to do the close my eyes routine as they opened the door and walked me into the garage where low and behold what did I see....

I see a PIANO waiting for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a beautiful upright piano and my 14 yr. old daughter was all excited
and jumping with joy because it had been her idea!!  She knows that I missed having a piano because I had one growing up.  After we got married we moved to CA and we couldn't fit it into the truck to bring it out, so my brother said he'd take it and whenever we moved home, I could take it back.  I was so sad. When we moved back from CA, I wanted to get it back as we had agreed but my brother and wife and kids never took care of that piano, they scratched it to pieces, kids drew on the keys, etc. it was a disaster and broke my heart they had treated it so carelessly.  It's been twelve years since then...pianos are a bit to pricey for us.   Well my DD happened to be talking to her math teacher during homeroom and the teacher was talking about how she was excited to be getting a new piano soon.  DD asked her teacher what she was doing with the old one and the teacher said she'd have to put an ad in the paper....DD came home and told DH all about it and could he buy it for me!!!  Isn't that the nicest thing you've ever heard!!  Went back to school and told her math teacher about her mom wanting a piano for so long, well teacher was thrilled to sell it to DH for what I understand was just a nominal amount and they excitedly picked it up and brought it home!!!

I'm just so happy, because I love to play and it's a sweet little upright probably from about the '40's with beautiful curved legs and mahogany and in perfect condition...really pretty!!!   I'm a lucky mom and wife to have such a thoughtful family and a wonderful teenager who thought of her mom instead of focusing on what she would be getting for Christmas!!!

So that's it everyone....my mystery present in the garage!!!  I just love it!!

Wow, That is so sweet, i just love it when people really put "thought" into what they are giving!!
