Called about the reservations at HR SP, sorry no pet sites are left for the 24th of Sept. So looks like I will be going somewhere local. My dogs always go camping with me. Partly because we have no one to watch them at home. We have found places where some CG locations have a list of boarding kennels to use for the day it you want to take a tour.

Thanks

I tried to talk Raymond into staying home so you could have the doggie spot (I could have taken your site), but for once, he WANTS to go...men...and they wonder about us...

tlhdoc

Gee Paula that is a surprise.  Tell Raymond that I am looking forward to seeing him again.  It was also very nice of you to try and give up your site. :)

Hi Tracy and the rest of the gang.

David, Matt and I are going to miss seeing all of you on Sept 24th.  David's cousin in Maryland is getting married that weekend.  Have a wonderful time.  Maybe it won't rain if I am not there.  I swear I do a "rain dance" every time I set up my Bayside.

Tracy,
Wondering if it is time to start a "potluck" sign-up thread for the rally....not too long now....looking forward to seeing all....

It's been a LOONG summer and very busy.........but that's another story.

YES, Sharon and I will be seeing everyone this year at Hickory Run SP.  We are in a real squeeze as we will be traveling the full week before that weekend.  We are also heading out to Pine Creek SP for a long weekend shortly thereafter.  Can't seem to get the rapid fire camping trips down pat.

Soooooooooo.......we will be attending but as day visitors.  We live so close it's just a short hop for us.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

We will keep an eye on the Pot Luck thread and figure something good out.

**** Just a thought ===> I know many of those attending are repeat visitors to the park and have done the major sights.  HR has a sister annex park ajoining HR that is quite nice.  It is the Lehigh Gorge - well known for it's whitewater rafting and the super nice Rails-to-Trails that runs the length of the gorge.

Would there be any interest in a biking excursion of a portion of the trail?  We ride this trail often and it's a gem.  Very smooth and well groomed, easy for all ages to ride, with scenic sights and historical ruins to see along the way.  Beyond what the park showcases on the trail there is much more that I have explored and discovered.   Also the Fall colors along the gorge should be starting up.  I would be happy to put a little tour together if there is interest.

Last minute add on!!!

We'll be joining you on site # 261!  I hope it's a good site.  The woman at reservations said the pad was 47' long.  That should give us plenty of room for our camper and car(s).

This will put us away from home 4 weekends in a row, but we were headed to Jim Thorpe on Saturday anyway.  With the weather so nice and cool, I thought we might as well squeeze in another camping trip.  Besides, it's an easy drive (close to home) and the camper is almost packed -- I just have to throw in some food and clothes.  Now, I just have to figure out what to bring for the pot luck.  Do we have a schedule of events or things I need to know?  Is there anything I need to bring (canopy, firewood, etc)

Wow, I FINALLY get to meet some of you!
