I was just wondering if any one had any suggestions on camping in Gettysburg.  I only live about 3 hours away but have never been there.  We are thinking of going there for Memorial Day and want to reserve somewhere soon.

I heard only good things about Drummer Boy.  It's where we'll camp if we ever get to Gettysburg.

I camped at Drummer Boy 2 years ago.  It is a nice private campground.  Much nicer than many others.  If you go I would recommend getting a site that is back past the fishing pond.  The sites near the front are more open and closer to the highway. :)

I took everyones advice and signed up at DrummerBoy.  And you are right it must be a popular place.  They only had 3 sites left for popup campers for that weekend.   So I didnt have much choice were I ended but on their map im just above the fishing pond.   The first visit to any campground is tough, once you get there you can always find sites alot better than the one your in but im sure we will have a good time.

My family has been to Gettysburg many times.  We like Drummer Boy campground.  Very friendly.  Be sure to do alittle homework before you go on several web sites about the battle so you know what you want to see.

Tim when are you planning on going?  Is it a holiday weekend?  I am surprised that they are filled up already.

Drummer Boy.  Huge, clean, nice pool and adult only hot tub.  Lots of activites both at campground and in town.  Nice fishing lake.  Level wooded sites.  Friendly staff and the biggest camp store I've seen.  Never had a bad time there.
