I am awaiting some info from the campground on Group rates and group arrangements.  Expect to have it in a couple more days, by mail.  I am suspecting we may be able to get a better rate as a group and get a block of sites placed all together.  I'm hoping we might get placed around one of the pavilions for getting together (remember - April Showers).  I'll let Tracy and everyone else know as soon as I find out.

Tracy, what is the count so far?  It will be helpful to get a head count early in the game.  Last year we did this for a Geocaching event at Ricketts Glen State Park and started off with 15 people and 2 sites and ended up with almost 100 people and at least 20 sites.  It was great fun, like a little town full of techno-treasure hunters.

Yippiiieee,  I'm finally thinking Spring.

Hey, Copcarguy...... If you are going on an earlier in the season visit, let me know when.  I only live an hour away.  I won't have the PU out that early but might just do a day trip.  There seems to be just too much to explore down there in just one weekend.

We are looking forward to seeing yu all new and old alike.

Whitestar, thanks for the info. We'll have to check our schedule. I know we're camping at Clear Creek two weeks before that, so may or may not be able to make it. Why did you give me the link to Eagles Peak? I camp there a lot and have a fav. spot we enjoy in the woods. I just realized I don't have my info. posted below automatically. This is our 2nd year of pop up camping and just traded in our 92 Coleman for a 2004 Jayco Qwest. We can't wait to use it! Is the KOA really located in Lebanon more than Pine Grove? I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there from Pittsburgh. Looks like take I-81 towards Lebanon and get there that way.

SteelerFan,
I agree Route I81 may be your best bet.

Now that date and location are in place, how are we making arrangements?

Is there a special area we need to ask for or do we just call and make reservations?

Dee isn't involved with this trip that I am aware of.  I don't think she is even planning on going.   Thank you for setting the official date ("It has been decided and it is a Pine Grove KOA from the 23-26 of April".) for the trip, but I think most people will be leaving on Sunday April 25th.

tlhdoc

Andy I am glad to hear you are going to be joining us again.

Steelerfan I hope that you will be able to join us on this trip.  If you can't make this one feel free to join us another time.  I have camped at Eagles Peak and think that it is a nice campground.  I haven't been to the Pine Grove KOA, but have heard that it is nice.  I mapped the trip from Pittsburgh to the campground, using Microsoft Streets/Trips, and it has you going over the turnpike to the I-81 exit and then taking I-81 north.  This looks like a good choice unless you don't like the turnpike. :)

Hey all!

MTNDAVE - I tried emailing you asking if you'd like to join us when we go on an earlier trip, but your email is blocked by PUT.  We'll go as soon as there is a good rain to wash the majority of the road salt off the highways.  We'll probably be camping there on a Fri / Sat as those are my days off.  If by some miracle my leave request gets approved for a Sunday, we'll stay an additional night.  I could also do a shift switch with another officer to get a Sunday off, but then I owe them a day and quite frankly I would not enjoy the Sunday they gave me because I would be thinking I owed them the whole time.  Sounds stupid I know...

Copcarguy,

I think the E-mail thing was my fault.  I didn't know about ALL the settings needing changed.  I think I have it fixed now.

Yup, Tracy is right on.  Just under 20 clicks north of the Highest City (altitude) in Pennsylvania, Hazleton and just south of Wilkes-Barre.

tlhdoc,

Sorry about that, right weekend anyways, was not trying to override anyone one about the dates but thought they were in place already. Besides, with the weather the way it has been this winter we might want to re-think the dates. As for the info on Dee, wrong thread. Bad Day!
