Back from my working sojourn to Texas......Did not get a taste of Spring as I had hoped.  It was between 38 and 45 during days and raining all the time.  As I was outside for at least 8 hours each day it was pretty miserable.  It started snowing down there as I was flying out (good for me - bad for them).  Of course it was colder here but it's supposed to be.

Extra bummer.....it was a "DRY" County.....but I found a way around that and enjoyed my nightly warming beverage.

NOW, I'm really looking forward to Spring and getting the PU rolling.  Made my list today of this-to-do.  This will be the first trip of the season and I want to be prepared.

I expected to come back to lots of new additions to this thread and was suprised to see only a couple.  Hopefully more will sign in so we get the discount but if not no big deal.  Fun WILL be had by all regardless.

Nine (9) weeks and counting. (Seems so far away)

Hi all,

I just learned I will be in Europe for a conference during this trip so needless to say I'm not very happy. But today I will fetch our new 2002 Fleetwod  Niagara camper.

We will most likely try Pine Grove the weekend after everyone has been there. Also looking for a trip in May so let me know if anyone has planned any trip middle of end of May.

Cheers,
Adam

Adam I will be camping at RB Winter SP, PA for the Memorial Day weekend. :)  There should be 2 other families camping there too.

Dave to bad the weather wasn't nicer on your trip.  I hope we get a few more to join in also.  Well the days are counting down. :)

MTNDAVE

This thread got kinda quiet so I thought I would boost it up a bit.

After a failed attempt to meet up with CopCarGuy & Gal on their pre-visit to Pine Grove (sorry Rick).  We started to look forward.

Plan this week was to pull the PU out of it's winter resting place and take it down for a new set of sneakers and a little tune-up.  NOT !!!!  Calling for up to 7" which usually translates to about a foot up here on the mountain and more maybe coming on Thursday.
I'll be soooo glad when this winter thing plays itself out.

So what is the actual count now and do you think we will see any more join us?  We want to start thinking FOOD but it always helps to have a head count and how many are biggins and how many are youngins.  Currently as it stands we will be just the two of us, two old crows.

There are several bike trail close by.  Has anybody thought about bringing bikes?  We will be bringing ours if weather is with us.

Well,  Dinner is on the platter so I better run.  Back to ya latter.

Dave there will be 1 adult and 2 kids in my PU.  Maybe a DiW would want to join us in the Nevada.  Bikes depend on the weather.

Hey Tracy. Nice to see you still remember me. Haven't been around much lately. Chris is often on the computer, looking/applying for jobs. Not looking good  :(  but he did have an interview Thursday. I start a part-time job this Wed - no big deal but it will pay a few bills...

Still not sure about joining you in April. I planned to have Chris take Kelsey to her soccer games on that Sat & Sun since he's much more into this sports stuff than I am. But Jason was recommended for some year-long science pgm at Columbia University and he needs to take an entrance exam on that Sat. Chris hates to drive into NYC, esp if I'm not around to tell him exactly where and when to turn so it looks like I may have to drive him. I'm hoping he may change his mind about doing this because I doubt he has much chance of being accepted since he's just a freshman in HS and hasn't had the advanced math & science courses yet that he'll be tested on. On one hand it's flattering to have been the kid recommended by the school. On the other hand, it just gets his hopes up. AND if he gets accepted, it means I have to get him into the city every Sat for classes. WHy can't kids just want to go out and play in the backyard? That sounds terrible doesn't it. Oh well, just ignore me.

Anyway, I'm still hoping to join y'all but it's not looking good.

Hey all!

DiW it's so good to see you here...  I've been chatting with Chris here & there on "the cellies" to keep updated with you guys...:D

Dave it'll be just me and Steph as usual...  We kinda decided to NOT bring the mountain bikes on this trip because the gravel roads at this KOA were really big "item 4" size chunks of rock.  I know Stephie would have a hard time riding her bike there.  If the bike trails you spoke of are dirt and/or smaller rocks we might bring them.  Please let us know.  As far as food, I think there is another thread somewhere around here about what we're gonna bring for a pot-luck.  If I am wrong, we'll do our usual HUGE pot of franks & beans.  Keep up posted!

Hi All,

Just booked Twin Grove with our friends for the weekend after everyone has torn up the grounds ( Just Kidding )  We are booked in sites F82 & F84 I'm sorry I can't make the weekend before being I have to travel to the wonderful forest ( I mean Sweden ) for a conference. My boss read me my rights if I go now he promises no more travel till the fall, OK !

Rick, Thanks for leaving plenty of stock on the shelves @ Cabella's I will not have Lisa with me when I make my journey through this store. from what I here it's a sure drop of least $ 100.00 @ the door, and I can't have her knowing what toys I'm buying. It's worst enough that the UPS man gives me away @ times. I begged him to leave my parcels behind the house so she can't see my purchases. However if I get caught the reply is for every parcel is a pair of shoes and another trip to the mall for her " Fair is Fair " LOL ~

This will be our first trip out with the new Niagara, thanks to Tracy holding my hand for the last 4 months I finally upgraded from my comfortable Rockwood to my house on wheels.

Dee sorry to hear about Chris. Lisa almost lost her job with Philips Lighting after 6 years last week, but she got granted a department transfer however...16 of her other colleges weren't so lucky. The good news was she put her resume online and had several calls in only a few days, so it seems the job market is improving.

Ok I need to go and send Patty @ PUT $ 5.00 so Dave will give me access under the new subscription plan !

As always all the best,
Adam & Lisa

Your welcome Adam.  Now how about joining us on one of our trips, instead of going the week after us. :D

T-Minus 5 weeks and counting down to Pine Grove.  I really need to get the camping started for the season.   But...............

Another 4" of snow fell last night on top of the 7" from the other day.  Guess I'll get the snow shoes out tonight and do a little night treking.

Hopefully the snow will melt fast as I have an appointment to get new sneakers on the PU next weekend.

I checked weather history for Pine Grove.  Average temps for the days we will be there are HI 64 deg. and LOW 40 deg.  I can live with that.

Hope we get some more to join in since the group appears small.  The more the merrier.

Adam

Thanks Tracy ~  Your killing me !

How about mid-May Anyone have plans ?

tlhdoc

Adam we have a group trip to NS Lake May 7th weekend and DiW and I will be at RB Winter for Memorial Day weekend.  Beckie isn't sure what is going on at her house, but hopes to come and camp on my site.  You are welcome to join us.  I will warn you that we are dry camping.  There are electric sites, but I didn't like any of the sites that were available when I made my reservation. Why don't you and your family join us on one of the trips. :)   Skip mid May and do early and or late May. :)

:) Tracy, I would love to, the problem is it's my anniversary ( 8 yrs ) so we are still newly weds :J, and being I will be away the last three weekends prior it would be a good idea for me to do something other than work & camping  :J  !

Then June 4th ,5th, 6th we are in Frontier Town MD ! But from there on the year is open for trips !

tlhdoc

We will be at Assateague NS June 16th (about midnight) and come home on the 21st.

July 12th to the 16th is the Eastern Rally in Gettysburg.  There are 20 some families going on the trip.  Some are going early and staying late.

August 5th to the 15th we will be at Acadia NP in Maine.  There are 2 other  families going from the 7th to the 14th and I think there will be a few more going too.  Copcarguy is going just for the 5th to the 8th.

Labor day weekend I will be at RB Winter again (this time with electric hookups).

September 24th is the Hickory Run trip you are going on

And our last planned trip is Columbus day weekend October 8th weekend at RB Winter.
