Here I am almost leaving to get the stupid satellite dish off, and stupid snow is coming down really hard. And to top it off, it is the wet type ! With each flake so big it hurts you when it falls on you !

I need the dish because I am going to sell it with the receiver and get a garage door opener ! The satellite company left the dish there when we returned the system (The receiver basically) because we weren't really satisfied with the quality this time around. A lot of signal loss and programming charges were higher than what we were promised. I have an old receiver which I will bundle with this dish and sell it on ebay ! yehaaa, free money to buy a garage door opener ! The darned door is BIG, it is a 1.5 car garage, and the door barely moves by hand. We want to be able to park a car in, and a garage door opener is a must !

So, here I go (soon) to get the dish ! The things we do to earn little bit of money !

OH!  I thought you were bothered by something else.  Well, I can understand your situation and with the snow coming down it makes things more difficult.  At least you didn't get 1" of snow followed by a 3/4" glaze of sleet-ice combination with the whole mess making it impossible to even walk out side.  Unless you had a pair of ice skates, then you could go nowhere for 2 days.  After that the big melt started and I just used the indoor time to clear off my desk.  At least, now I know you are not going to quit until you have that dish boxed and ready.

Arrrrggghhhh, more snow and then it turns into rain and snow and ice pellets and some other stuff ! But, at least my fingers did not freeze ! I got it down after struggling somewhat ! My Fire Storm didn't have enough juice to unscrew the bolts, so I had to come back home and get a rachet thingie, and then it was smooth sailing ! I also had to get the old BBQ to in front of the door, which was no fun ! Left it there for some one to pick it up ! They always disappear after a week or so !

The dish is the house now ! If anyone wants a Canadian dish we can strike a deal :):):) It is impossible for you guys to buy it after all, and we have such excellent programming, you won't believe it ! I mean, it is sooooo booring :):):)

All done ..... yehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Kind of curious what a used dish sells for these days? I have 5 or 6 of them lying around here, and one "Dish Network" receiver as well....

Dishes are cheap for some reason, receivers go for good money though ..... Look it up on ebay as I have no idea how much are they in USA.

If your garage door is that hard to move by hand, you probably need to upgrade the spring(s).  Openers tend to have nylon gears, and the gears get trashed with a heavy load.  I've had to rebuild several of these.   :(     The problem here is heat.  During the Summer, the garage will still be 95 degrees even at midnight.  The nylon breaks down, and the garage door suddenly drops when the opener is trying to open it.  For that reason, never get under a garage door when it is moving!!!  I have two garage bays, both openers failed within a few months of one another (~ 10 years old).

Can't live without a garage and garage door opener ever again!

I think it only needs adjustment, this is a new house, but the door is bigger than a single garage door, but it doesn't look like as if the size is the only contributing factor. I feel a lot of resistance. Do I need a 3/4 HP garage door opener, or will a 1/2 HP heavy duty opener just do fine ? Any idea ?

I suspect the 18" round dish with single & dual LNB's are cheap due to many people upgrading to oval dish's with the triple LNB's, which pick up local programing from the "spot" satellites (different birdie up there). There is probably a great deal of used round one's out there. I was only an installer for a week, and have 7 dishes, threw away another 2 of them which got bent when I frizbee'd them down off the roof!!!! :D
