Well, then again there is this photo.. This was before I used photoshop to make them look normal.. It was hard work, but from what I started with.. LOL

It isn't everyone. I did not see you in the picture.

Beautiful family ! Now learn how to use the timer function on that camera  :J

Starcraft Dad

Awwww, too cute.  I like the second picture though.  It looks like your daughter is thinking to herself..."what have I gotten myself into.":D

Great picture Lee.  Now let your DW take a few pictures of you and the kids.  :)

WHEW!  It has been such a hectic day around here that so I am   just now "arriving" at the board and can see what the rest oif you have been enjoying on this thread..

Thanks, Lee.  Great pictures!  I dont know  a lot  about computer photo technology  but they look sure wonderful to me.  (Maybe it is just  the subject matter that makes them look so good!)    Anyhow, I love seeing  your family  sitting together  in front of that stone fireplace (neat fireplace, BTW!)   And I must say, Baby Darling is really a little cherub.  Ya done great, Andi and Lee!  We'll be looking for more pictures as time goes by and she starts to explore her own little world.  :)  :)  :)

Ok, Ok.. Here you go. I can not access my camera screen, something to do with dropping it onto a shop floor from over my head. I have a new screen on order though.. It is a major pain trying to use it for work and take 50 to 100+  photos a day with it

Check out out funky white birch tree.. the best anyone can figure is that the main branches were bent down and tied to the trunk and left to grow like that giving it the "U" shaped main branches.. That is out back yard BTW. See  the little popper way in the back!

Yep.. That is my favorite feature in the house. Although I am seriously thinking about a wood stove insert. The new ones are so much better looking and I will not waste 75% of my wood.. Here is a better photo. You can not really tell, but the right side does stick out about 30" from the closet door on the right.. It really fills up the room. I just wish I could figure out how to make a mantle that would look right on it.. I can not put any tile above the top to make it higher because there is not really anything that will look right with the stone.

I think you'll like a wood stove insert, Lee.  We have two  here and they are VERY efficient.  Also, both of them are very pretty looking black stoves with glass doors.  They are not cheap, but have paid  for themselves in savings on other fuels (our wood is free--comes from our place; all we have to do is cut it.)
Seems to me that your fireplace area is so nice looking all by itself that it's fine without a mantle--it is kind of a contemporary style, clean lines and all, and a lot of them that I've seen dont have mantles.  You're lucky that the stonework is attractive  enoough to stand on its own.

The firepalce looks great ! So does the stonework ! It should be a crime th rip it off and put a stove :) (Just kidding about the crime). It looks so beautiful though ! If I ever have the money one day, I will have a wood burning fire placed installed in the basement. I love wood burning fire places.

I love wood burning fireplaces but I do think a stove insert will work best and save on wood.  You'll be warmer and lose less of the heat through the chimney.

Lee I love fireplaces but think they need mantles too. For that style I think I'd be on the lookout for a nice piece of hardwood and then affix it to the stone the entire width of the fireplace.  You'd need a very substantial piece though or a good carpenter that could apply it to the front of a less costly piece to make it look larger then it actually was. A darker wood like mahogany or cherry would be beautiful.

I LOVE the second picture! And I must agree with Starcraft Dad....your preciousl daughter looks like she isn't too sure about the rest of the crowd! hehehe...I'm sure it won't be the last time her brothers get looks like that! ;)
