Cliff,
With all the snow days we have lost the Friday before Easter and the Monday after Easter.  I had planned on staying 4 days.  Now, I am going to pass thanks to Old Man Winter.  We have also lost 3 days of Spring Break and Memorial Day.  If we miss anymore they will be adding to the school year.

You all have fun and enjoy the weekend.

Those things happen! We haven't had many snow days here on the coast, and they already made up the Hurricane week before Christmas! Good luck!

My son doesn't go to public school; so far they have only lost last Friday and are now having a half day on April 8. I have reservations for the 8th, 9th and 10th so as of now we'll be able to make it on Thursday.
Hope it doesn't snow any more but it's a little too early in February to expect that just yet!

Done! Glad to have ya aboard. You didn't give us a screen name, so i just used your first name (either that or you would be "unregistered" ;) )

Unregistered

not that we would change our plans but.......are we the only ones bringing kids this weekend? hard to tell with just the screen names as we don't know anyone from the "real world" as of yet. ;)

There will be several kids, many of them were listed somewhere in the original thread, but I've been trimming the thread every time I re-do it. I know I'll have 2 maybe three (Boy 13, girl 10, maybe one other 13 y/o boy, Acer will have one boy-15, and Bev & Davester have 3 kids (2-7-14)... There are others too...

Due to Donna and family moving to California at the end of school, Raymond wanted to spend time with his daughter and grandkids, so he has agreed that we should attend. I have officially unofficial 2 campsites.

I have had to opt out of one of the campsites at the Rally in Gettysburg, and Raymond promised her a campout so he was OK with this one. She lives fairly close as she lives in Solomans Island MD, so can get over to I95 fairly easily

Louise, if we could be put together and near the rest room (small children and a husband that requires that we be near the RR)

Gone-Camping

I'm sure Louise can accomodate that. I'm going to suggest site's..

#57... This is a handicap site, restrooms directly behind.

If you don't have a handicap tag, site next door would be just about as close...
#58...

And since you need 2 together, site #60 is also there...

The group will be trying to fill sites #42 & up, and still considering #42 as a group site, though Lousie indicates we shouldn't need that.

I'm glad to see you're going to be there afterall. The email you sent the other day didn't look as promising! See you there...

With one month to go, maybe it's time we start looking at the Pot Luck and figuring out who's going to bring what?!?!

Oh, last years Spring Fling someone put together an easter egg hunt for the little ones. Seems that went over real well with the kids, looking for a volunteer to put another one into motion.

Louise, will they let me set-up some horse shoe poles there???

stateparkgrl

Cliff,

The open field area in front of site 42 would work well for a horseshoe tournament.  I'll get the staff to mark the septic area so we won't interfere with that.

I think at this point, everyone should e-mail me with their reservation number and last name. One HUGE problem that we had at Westmoreland was that we had some no-shows...and I couldn't tell who they were because all I had was popuptimes Arvee Club names for everybody. It took me an hour with the Park Staff to figure out which 2 people had cancelled with the reservation center and not told me.

PLease e-mail this info. to stateparkgrl@aol.com sometime within the next week. When we mark the sites to hold, I will post both your last name AND your Arvee Club names  on the site posts. I have gotten permission to close off and hold the "C" loop (sites 42 - 54), and then will mark the closest 8 sites to those that are available. Please understand that this may be hard...Chesterfield County has their spring break the week BEFORE Easter...so the campground will likely be busy all week before our group gets there.  If someone sets up on sites 42-54 early in the week and is staying through Easter weekend, there won't be alot I can do about it.

The up side is that because of how the campground is designed, we will all be close no matter where we are. And I would rather hold someone a GOOD site than a close one.

As for the Pot Luck...lets get a list going. Remember that the building that we have reserved has a HUGE kitchen...so electricity or cooking areas is not a problem.  Shall we also all bring our own plates, utensils, and drinks like before? I think that worked good.

Another issue I need to know is if the group wants some type of Interpretive program (like the fossil program we had at Westmoreland) while you are here. We offer guided hikes both during the day and at night.  The cost would be minimal - but we need to decide so that I can talk to the Interpreter about it.

Louise

Thanks for the heads up Louise! I'll cross post this at PUX and HYX so everyone get's the message!
