Valentine's Day

OK, tell all what your plans will be for the most romantic day of the year when you declare your heart to "your valentine."  Are you the super romantic type that goes out to dinner, gives/gets flowers, or just settle in for a special dinner at home?  This year we plan a 2 day celebration with dinner out one night and dinner in the next night.  I am getting used to "surprises" and I am sure there will be several.  I got a card for my true love and a small box of sugarfree chocholates for him.

OK, mine will be the usual....nothing.  DH, just doesn't think about things like that.
 
Also, he has to work his p/t job.  That's a Saturday evening event.
 
Also, he's still unemployed and he has run out of unemployment benefits which means we have $800 less per month coming in and we were just making ends meet before.  What March will bring is anyone's guess.  Some time our luck just has to change...

You can still have a nice evening at home:  just fix a nice meal, put on a pretty table cloth,light the candles and create a pretty atmosphere that will soften even the hardest heart.

Oops, he does have to work that Saturday evening?  Oh well, do something on Friday night or Sunday night, then.

DH surprised me this morning by inviting me out to one of our local Chinese Restaurants (Oriental  Palace) for Valentines Day dinner.  Unfortunately, they don't take reservations and they do expect a big crowd, after past experiences.  So, DH has thought of a way to deal with the crowds and waiting lines.  We're going at about 4:30 in the afternoon, and will probably be done and ready to leave by the time the place fills up.  This is one of those places that has a very large and varied buffet, with lots of seafood items, authentic Asian and Oriental foods, and they have a small sushi bar, also serve prime rib and lobster as "all you can eat" items.   And their dessert bar is wonderful, with  many delicious sweets, but my favorite is the premium ice cream in many flavors that they serve.  (the cinnamon, and the coffee are great.)

Now, in keeping with my new year resolution, I bought cards BUT there won't be any candy or cake purchased until the day AFTER Valentines day (when they're marked down 90%).

Well, I'm not sure what I'll do for Holly. This holiday has sort of snuck up on me. I am starting a clinic at work, and it has gotten lost.

Also, Holly and I are leaving for a WEEK-LONG trip to...?  I don't know where we are going. Holly just told me to pack, so it is a surprise for me. :p

Eating chinese buffets are a good way to totally blow the diet.:eek: :J   Buying candy after valentine's day saves a whole lot of money and blows the diet, too.  Well, I'm for eating and saving money most any time.   Go ahead and enjoy it because Valentine's Day only comes once a year.  If alone, do something special for yourself.
