Never come between DW and her PU!

We are on a project to purchase 20 acres and house.  Being smart DH my practical and logical approach was to sell our '01 Bayside and use that money for land project.

I badly underestimated DW's response to such logic!  After putting my head back on my shoulders and now carrying my buttocks around in a paper bag... I have decided it must be a bad idea too!

Valentine advice for you men:  Never underestimate the attachment DW has to the family PU.  It is her freedom machine.  Try to remove it and someone will have to pay!

(Really...glad she stopped the idea too!!)

Hmmmmm, really good point.  A lot of love goes into taking care of that popup and being able to get away on short notice.  Remember, no high prices hotels to worry about....you're sleeping in your own bed and not where someone else has slept.  Find another way to finance the land.:)

Tell me about it! Peggy wanted a big TT that I can't tow with the Jimmy. I finally relented & we bought one that will sit at a campsite for a year or two until we get a larger truck. I, foolishly, suggested trading in the popup as the dealer had folks looking for the one we have and it would reduce out cost of the TT. To make a long story short, the TT AND popup now share the same campsite. It was kept for "short trips we may want to take" and, I still have tents for the "shorter trips we may want to take".

Of course, it doesn't end there. I met a guy who was ready to buy camping equipment so he could take his family out. Now, I was willing to sell some of the stuff we have & don't use. (A good example is our "portable" stoves. We have both the dual fuel and propane Coleman stoves. The popup has a stove and the TT has a stove AND oven). I was blasted for even thinking about parting with one of them (or any other duplicated thing).

Go figure.

BELIEVE IT!  I have still never forgiven Billy for giving away our beloved Skamper to his older brother while I was out of town!  And I never will!  Having the TrailManor does not  give him absolution for that  terrible Sin of  Commission   :(     He is just lucky I didnt start putting ground glass in his food.

At least he cant try to give away any of our old camping gear--I have hidden it!

Shame on you, guys for even allowing these terrible thoughts to enter your pointy little heads!  :o

When oh when are you boys going to learn. I don't see any of you parting with your toys!!! I love my PU and even when I move up in the next year or so I will not be willingly parting with the PU no, no its going to go to my son who is already recieving instructions on how to love it so my grandkids can go camping too! I am adamant about it not being traded out of the family!! If we need quick money see the banker or sell something else. That PU has too many good memories of family in it.
