I would much rather be listening to blenders or fishing than hauling slash up the hill to be hauled off. Oh well, I guess I'll have to make sure the beer is cold.

Quote from: gsm x2At rally #1, I think two of the kids had wore out two sets of tires riding or pushing bikes and cars in circles. Bring the bikes. Heck, that section of PCH has a nice wide bike lane all the way to Oxnard. We can bring them back to Malibu.

The kids can ride their bikes on the streets in the RV park. I don't know that I'd want the kids--even the older ones-- riding along the bike lane on PCH. Cars rip along pretty fast on that stretch of highway.

The street directly in front of these sites is a bit of a hill that bottoms out right at the entrance of the cg. Griffin wore out the CampingCoxes' son who graciously kept pushing my monkey back up the hill after he would go screaming down without braking. We were actually thinking of leaving Griffin's bike at home because the way he goes down that hill makes my over-protective mommy heart go :yikes:

We were not planning on bringing bikes either.  If I remember right, the campground is terraced and pretty hilly.  I guess if you are a good bike rider and go with an adult the PCH would be nice but for younger inexperienced children I probably wouldn't recommend it.

I'm glad to hear that it's not just me.  :)   We'll leave Griffy's bike at home.

Well, I just called Malibu RV and they do not allow any type of fire.  I asked about the covered fire pit and she said that the whole city of Malibu has banned anything that burns wood, no matter what it is (you can't even use a Duraflame log).  So if we want charred marshmallowes it will have to be done over propane or charcoal:screwy: :banghead: .  I guess we will have to be happy with margarita's.

So will it be okay to have the burning charcoal for the DOs?

If we have enough margaritas, we won't care about not having a fire. :-()  I can bring Baileys too.

Charcoal is fine.  In fact we used the DO's the last time we were there.  The lady said we could use charcoal or propain.

I will get some Bailey's too.  I love it at night with some Decaf coffee and whipped cream.  Yummmm.

everyone's going "Tamping" but me   (break out the teeny tiny violins)

I am getting ready for pismo. I took the froo froo valanace thing down and  all the curtains and washed them. installed a shoe holder, sealed my storage that had a leak. and scrubbed down some of the cabnets today. Still have some more little things to fix, more deep cleaning to do ,and  go thru the "I should have this in case I need it" stuff and remove what I have never used.

now if I  can figure out how I can pack  a cord of wood then all would be perfect.

Hi - sorry for the double post but I'm being lazy :screwy:.
Does anyone know if our sites have a sewer hookup?
Thanks!

Rich

OC Campers

Mikey, thanks so much for the goodie offer.  My kids will be thrilled.  They are
3, 8 and 12.

Rich, we only have water and electric.  I also think the sites have cable hookups.

Hang in there Dee; Pismo'll be here before you know it and then you'll be tamping too!  :)

Cute story (at least to me): I just asked Griffin where we will be at this time next week.  He was laying in our bed watching cartoons.  As he's on his back, he throws both arms and both legs up into the air, starts waving all of them wildly and says with the biggest grin his little face can hold, TAMPING!!!!!!!!!

At a parent-teacher conference last week, his teachers told me that he is very good about being able to verbalize and relate stories to them.  Of course, they said, all the stories are about his camping trips, but it's still a good thing.  He explains to them the difference between fifth wheels, motorhomes, trailers and pop-ups.  He even tells them about the special  "silver tampers."  I hope I'm not ruining this kid...:( ;)

Lori,

Not ruining him at all.  In fact, on Thursday I was talking to a principal at an elementary school. He said that the one thing that seems to differieciate one child from the other in their way to deal with school is that kids who are read to and have stories seem to be able to handle many many many different situations than children who are not read to.
