IF birol was to move to the USA

pro's
finding a job, sooner
VA area homes are less expensive then most places
camping for 7 to 9 months of the yrs
camping all around you
being closer to the rallies
being closer to most of us
less snow!
warmer temps
lots of nice places to visit
cost are normally lower for things

cons

leaving your country
leaving your family and friends
up-rooting your kids
free medical insurance

Acts 2:38 girl

Another CON:

Sell and buy yet ANOTHER house!!

Just the thought makes me cringe - not birol moving here, but to sell/buy!  Never again for me!!   :)

angelsmom10

Cheaper PU's and ability to transfer into your name without the worry of inspection crossing the boarder.

birol

I just wish it was easy to move ..... We would  relocate no problems with that. I ned a job to move via NAFTA ..... and there are no job offers :(

Birol,

I have alot of friends in the Computer business and if you are serious about a possible move, maybe I can help.  I'm a Senior Server Systems Admin and have been doing that for about 22 years now.  I have lots of contacts.

If you are interested in seeing what the market holds for you down here, email me your resume and I'll get it out to my friends.  They do recruiting and placements.

You never know what may happen unless you try.

birol

Loadedcamera, it will be on its way to you today, I just want to go over it once again  before sending it.

Uprooting the kids is a big bummer, but I am sure they will adjust.
medical insurance --- If The job doesn't pay for it, or if it is not easily covered, A very very big bummer. I read on this board how much some of you have to pay !

If you have any contacts this way, let me know.  DH is also in that field.  He's been an IT Project Manager....most recently with GE.  He's been unemployed 4 times in the past 5 years.  The field is starting to s^ck.

birol

I am telling my son not go to the computer field ...... But to concentrate on other areas .......

vjm1639

Wow...I didn't realize it was that bad in other places. I know things slowed down here for awhile, but the degreed computer folks seemed to still find things. The market has seemed to improve quite a bit recently though. My son is still in college completing his Computer Engineering degree and he already has a job here paying more than I make. They let him work whenever he's home from school on breaks and gave him a laptop and cell phone to take to school in case they really need him for something. We have a hard time finding really good folks with Computer Engineering degrees. Don't discourage him from a computer degree...just maybe point him in a different location! ;>

I think it is worse in Canada, and especially me. I was caught in between a jump from technical word to management (Which I had done years and years ago, but I had to do once again because we were new to Canada). So I don't have many technical skills to depend on and nobody wants to hire me as a manager ..... So here I am in third year of unemployment  ......

vjm1639

Wow..that really stinks.... yeah, our managers and employees here are all disgustingly technical. I'm probably the least technical person on our contract.  I take care of the people..I don't care about the computers, or how they work or writing programs...etc....   ;>

Angel,

I'm not sure about the Ohio area, but I can surely forward any resumes off to my friends in the field.  Their list of contacts branches out further than mine.  I just push them into the flow!

You are more then welcome to send me his resume and I will forward them off to my friends and contacts...
