Are you guys and gals having fun?

I don't know if they are having fun in Georgia, but we have about 6 inches of snow here in Charlotte:D .  And it will be 60 degrees on the weekend.

Maybe I'll call my SIL (Moorseville) and see how she's doin' :D

Be careful, she might just send a snowball over the phone line. We're suppossed to get another 2-4 inches of snow tonight. Kids down the street have built a snow fort and are engaged in a friendly snowball fight.:XMas

yep, we had about 3 inches here.  very pretty. made our place look like a Christmas card.  It will be 48 tomorrow and  60 on Sat so will all be gone.  Nice if you can stay at home but miserable for those who spend much time on the roads--especially in the Atlanta area.  NASTY road conditions  there holding up traffic including on I-85 for 3-4 hours this afternoon shutting down the road until the early part of rush hour  and a couple of really awful wrecks, as well.

A lot of people here have never driven in snow or ice, dont know what black ice is and have no respect for this kind of weather or driving conditions.  They keep right on driving like they are on a dry racetrack instead of an icey freeway and the resulting statistics show that a lot of these folks  are in real bad need of a brain transplant. ;)

Snow all day long here just north of Charlotte.  We really had fun outside.  Snow almost too fluffy to make a good snowman!  Last snow we had in January, the snow was too icy to stick.

We got 5 inches here in upstate S.C. Roads not to bad this morning
but then again i am from Detroit where this is common

have to agree on the brain transplant............Alot of people on the roads that have no biz on the roads !!!!

I saw this on the news last night and thought immediately of all you down there.  Although they did say locally 6-8", with my luck, I'm usually in the locally.

Have a safe drive till it goes away.

Spring is only about 21 days away...well at least according to the calendar.

By the way, this weekend, we're going into the upper 50's tommorow and around 60 on Sunday (sorry)

We had about 6" in the Sandhills area of NC....Pinehurst-Southern Pines-Carthage areas.  It's doing its meltdown now and will probably freeze back over tonight making roads very dangerous for travel.    There's a bit of rain right now.  With warmer temps coming this weekend, it will be gone pretty fast.  I hope this is the last one as I have never seen it like this around here with 3 storms so close together.  We usually only get one.  OK, I know all the Canadians are going to blast me for all the whining about our little snowstorms. :Z

Few years ago coming back from FLA, there was a snow storm hitting Atlanta. Everyobe was really driving like a maniac as if they were on dry roads. It was snowy, slipper, black ice and everyone was skidding and still everyone was speeding, it was chaos ! We had a brand new Windstar at them time, and barely avoided joining a pile up ! You guys/gals need to have more snow to get used to it !  :Z

So, consider yourself scolded now  :J  :W

Now to get the cities to get the proper equipment and learn how to use it is another thing.

Around here, we get 4 inches and the whole city shuts down...except where I work:% .. the boss expects me in no matter what... I live in the middle of a hill that's in the middle of another hill.  One year, the fire dept had to come on a run and they got stuck (even with chains)... those who were home, got out their shovels and shoveled in front of the truck and thru sand and salt to allow them to get out.  I video taped it and the firemen were a little upset, but I had to prove to my boss that even the fire dept with chains get stuck on our hill.

Sooooooo, was your absence from work excused, angelsmom?  We have the same trouble around here, even the mention of snow or 1" on the ground, all the bread & milk gone from the grocery store in a flash, and then everything shuts down.  People just don't know how to drive in this stuff.  However, the sun comes out and it is gone in a couple of days.  Expecting somehere in the 60's here tomorrow. ;)

The snow is gone.

The male cardinals have started their mating calls.

We have daffydillies and crocus in bloom.  Spring is arriving in the northeast Georgia mountains!

We got 12" in this part of NC.  North of Charlotte and south of Lexington just off I-85.  The kids and I had a good time today, throwing snow balls and rolling around in the snow.  I sure hope this is the last of it though.  Don't think I could stand living where it snows a lot, but I'm glad to get it every once in a while.
