I was at The Winston! We stuck it all for all 10 days and all 8 inches of rain!  :p

For the Winston, we were in Section F--on the right hand side of the road through the middle of the campground (if you're facing toward the track), and closer to the pond. As far as I know, we'll be in the same site this May. I renewed my camping reservation at the same time I renewed my tickets. If I remember correctly, we're in F69. That's about half way between the office trailer and the pond, and about 6 or 7 spaces from the road.

We should be arriving late Thursday evening before The Wins....er, the Nextel All Star Challenge ( ). I'm planning to leave after I get off work at 4pm. It's about a 5 hour drive towing the PU and we'll probably stop for supper somewhere. With luck, we'll get there between 10pm and 11pm.

You can look for the Coleman Utah with the "5" and "18" flags on one side of the awning and the "40" and "8" flags on the other side. Still have the same green Durango. There should be a green and white camping rug (from the PUT store) outside the camper and a Paha Que tepee just off the mat.

And if any of you are camping in Bristol (in Earhart Campground) or at Martinsville (in the speedway campground), I'll be there too!

I received my scanner bag on Saturday.  I bought it on Ebay (as I did both my scanner & 2 pairs of headphones). The bag can be seen here http://www.bestbuy-electronics-and-computers.com/html/nascar_scanner.html .  I ended up paying $16.99 for it & $8.95 for shipping (no real savings here, but I really liked it)

It holds my scanner on the side and has a pocket for my cell phone, small digital camera, and a cooler liner for 2 drinks.

It can be worn at your waist or carried by a handle.  The only down side I can see is that the two headphones do stick out & may be difficult to wear when in a crowd.

Do ya'll use a scanner bag & if so, what type do you use.

I have a small backpack I usually take to the races. It has two mesh side pockets that I use for the scanner and my binoculars (I have a really small pair). I can usually get the headphones inside the backpack. I have a change purse in the backpack that I use to hold spare batteries and my "stubby" antenna.

I like the backpack because I can carry all my stuff...rain poncho, camera, wallet, sunscreen, etc. I usually have a couple of Zip-loc bags with Kleenex, travel packs of baby wipes, Tylenol, etc., in them. I got the backpack at Wal-Mart. I think I paid about $10-$15 for it.

Along with the backpack, I usually carry a small soft-sided cooler with drinks and snacks.

I used to carry a bigger backpack and a bigger cooler, but I got tired of lugging them. So I got rid of a lot of extra stuff and downsized! Plus, now that they check all your bags more closely, I get through the line faster with smaller bags and less stuff.

I must have at least a half dozen backpacks (and coolers). I'll see a new one and give it a try to see if it works better. But I keep going back to my little ol' Wally-World special! LOL!

....and the Speedways change their rules on what can be brought in, how many bags and what size the cooler can be.  So be sure to check the speedway site before you go for any rules.  This year Lowe's will not allow any golf carts on speedway property and only their staff is allowed to use carts.  Carts brought will be impounded and held until the even is over.  (Says so right on the website and something about the increasing number of injuries...)

Good point! SMI tracks are a lot more reasonable than ISC tracks! Bristol and Charlotte still have the same 14-inch limitation on coolers that they've had for years and no restrictions on being able to bring a backpack. However, Bristol (and probably Charlotte) recently put a restriction on the number of bags you can carry in--you can have one cooler and one other bag (such as a backpack). That's usually what I bring anyway, so it's not a real problem. However, I have carried a separate camera bag before, so it could have been a problem if I hadn't known about the new rules.
