I am going to Pa for Spring Break this year. We are going to stay at Otter Lake campground in Marshall's Creek. The kids want to see New York City. We are thinking about taking the Circle line cruise and maybe take the Gray bus tour. Does anybody know of a good way to get into the City from Stroudsburg Pa.

Straight down I-80 East from Stroudsburg to NYC...checkout the exact directions with //www.mapquest.com.
You may want to take a Martz bus right from Stroudsburg into the city...they have tours like that from the Martz bus station in Stroudsburg.

Takes about 1.5 hours for the trip.

My dad, son, & I are going on a trip to NYC in May.  My little boy is very excitted about the trip.  We are going by train from Charlotte, NC to NYC.  We want to take the Circle Line boat tour from the Intrepid to see the lower section of Manhatten.  We are also going to try to see the Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center (and the Pokemon store), and see the Mets play.

I hope you have a great time on both your camping trip & your visit to NYC.  Please tell us what you did & what was your favorite.

all good choices, but there is so much more here. for kids you have the sony wonder, which is a hands on tech lab, and its free! http://www.sonywondertechlab.com/
your have more musuems than you can count here, and the planetarium, which is next to central park! and in central park you have a nice zoo, one of the oldest carousel / merry-go-rounds. you also have horseback riding, row boating, and bikes for rent and a big skating rink. The circle line is nice, but if you can afford a bit more i would take one of the dinner/lunch cruises, you get a nice meal with the ride. if you figure out how much you spend on a for dinner and a boat ride, it comes close to the price of the cruise! and the cruise boats are much nicer. or do a sail boat or speed boat ride with drinks, http://www.key2newyorkcity.com/browse/122.html,

we also have an IMAX 3-d theater down there. and so much more!

Dee gives great NYC advice! We went last summer, and we had the time of our lives.

I was suprised at all the things there is to see and do for the kids.

We stayed at the Westin, Times Square. My wife found a deal via HotWire.com. Didn't know exactly what hotel we booked, until the reservations were final, our price was about $125 per night, which I think was pretty good. The hotel's concierge did a nice job getting us dinner reservations, etc. The rooms were nicely furnished, we could see down to 42nd. Street, and could see the Empire State Building.

We took the kids to the Toys-R-Us store, it was amazing. FAO Swartz was fun, we visited the Empire State Building, World Trade Center Site. Walked around alot! The area near Battery Park was very nice. Time was short, so we didn't get to the Intrepid, nor any of the museums.  Took the subway a few times, and headed down to Little Italy. The feel of the streets was great, almost like a scene from the Godfather! Rode a taxi, it's a testament to the cab driver's skill that there aren't a million crashes a day, the way they manuever in and out of traffic with hardly inches to spare.

My kids and us want to go back durring the Holiday season, from what we've heard it is quite a beautiful time of year.

the other thing, is if you are going to use the subways and buses, make sure you get a metro fun pass, so you can ride all day for one price! other wise its two dollars a ride fun pass is 6.00
