OC Campers

Quote from: UnregisteredOC Camper - if you want, I will "buy" your space off you, if that is ok with the group....

God Bless,

Rev. Dustin Parker

Thank you Rev. Parker.  I will contact Griffsmom and find out how she wants to handle it.   If you and I handle it amongst ourselves, then Lori won't need to refund me, she will just need to send you an updated confirmation sheet.  One less step for her.

I will e-mail you as soon as I hear from her.

Hey everyone--

Just a quick post to let you know that I am still here and have not run off to Mexico with your money. Life has been pretty hectic since we got back from Pismo. The woman who handled media and public relations for the embryo adoption program I direct left quite suddenly two Fridays ago, and I am now facing a number of unexpected speaking engagements around the country in addition to assuming her workload on top of my own. It looks like I may be abe to get a handle on things within the next couple of weeks and then will hopefully be back to my usual posting self. Please bear with me. I have received a number of e-mails and checks from people interested in attending this rally, and I appreciate your desire to attend this rally and your trust in me to just send me money. I promise I will get back to everyone as soon as things settle down a bit.

As for your site fees, Jacqui, I am happy to transfer your space over to Pastor Dustin or I can refund your fees, whichever you prefer. Also, Pastor D, what about having a Sunday morning service at the cg for any of us who would like to attend? There's nothing like being in God's word while also being in the midst of His beautiful creation. :)

Griffsmom,

It would have to be early, for I have to be up in Anza (about 10 miles away) for their normal worship.  They are presently without a pastor and I am helping as their interim ( my church in Yucca has 2 pastors)  However, all are welcome to come up that way.  I can easily bring one of my guitars ( usually do anyways ) and some fun campfire songs.  (though campfires down there.... be prohibited I bet)

Suppose we could get one of those Christmas fake fireplaces......

As to the spot - just let me know who to send the check or cash too...

OC Campers

Pastor Parker, I will e-mail you my address and you can send me a check.  That would be one less step for Lori.  Then she can send you a new confermation letter.  I sure wish we were going to the rally.  I love music around the campfire.  Vail Lake doesn't allow open fires but Griffsmom and Dee4j have closed fire pits which Vail allowes.  So there will be a fire.  There is nothing like music around a campfire to make a camping trip special.

Actually they allow fires..you can rent a fully enclosed pit from them (last qoute was $12/night)  I have a good size one I bought at Target just to bring to this campground ( and I use in my backyard)....That's the pyro in me..I love to sit by the campfire.

About T-Shirts

Well, since no one has really volunteered to create the artwork for the T-Shirts, I took a stab at it and created something simple.  If anyone has something better in mind, please let me know. I basically used the artwork from the back of last year's shirt, and made some minor changes to make it work on the Ash-grey shirt.  I also created another logo to go onto the front, left breast area.

Take a look here:

http://www.sccampers.org/halloween2004/shirt.htm

The cost of the T-Shirts depends on how many we order.  Last year we ordered 25 shirts, and the cost was $12.50 each.

I liked the witch towing the Pop-up so much that I added her to the rear graphic as well. :)

Anyone who wants to order shirts should let me or Lori know if they are not already on the list. ( http://www.sccampers.org/halloween2004/sites.html )

Had a question,
being new to this group, and Temecula will be our first trip with Sccampers, do you plan activities for the kids?  Do you have a trick or treat one night for the kids, (or adults).  In past trips that we have taken, if you wanted, you would host a craft or ????? for the kids.  The kids would then rotate to which ever campsite  (with supervision of course) and pick up their crafting supplies to take back with them to complete at their own campsite or????  My thought was if "we" have a trick or treat for the kids with our group, I would bring bags for them to decorate to use for trick or treating.  Nothing fancy just a project for the kids.

One more  ....(I guess that makes 2 questions) Do the adults do anything for the other adults as far as small tokens to pass out?  In Girl Scouts, the call them swaps, In the adult version.....I guess you would still call them swaps.  We have done this in the past with large groups, It's more like swaping a new drink or an easy recipe...cookies etc.  We've handed out everything from bubbles to fire starters.

Your thoughts please

We did not go to last years event, but believe that an earlier post said that there was a lot for the kiddies to do on this weekend. I'll let others that were there give a better take on this. Not sure about the adult thing.

Last year we had face painting during the day, trick-or-treating in the evening, and a costume contest in between.  What we found last year is that the campground had so much going on (a huge festival - games, shows, activities, etc) that we really couldn't get all the kids in one place to hold lots of activities.  I think that trick-or-treating around our sites is a good idea, but we should probably not try to fill the day with our own activities, since everyone is going to want to enjoy the festival.  However, a craft right before the trick-or-treating where they make their bags is a great idea!

I don't think that we have done this before.  We tend to pass out Margaritas and Beers to each other, as well as shrimp, brownies, etc.

Perhaps our first time around, we'll sit back and enjoy.  What a great group and we are looking forward to meeting all of you.  We drove up to vail lake on Saturday....stopping off at the Casino and leaving an enormous donation....what a beautiful place....vail lake I mean.

Hi,
I'm new to all this stuff so bear with me.  We just bought our pop up tent trailer and would like to see about joining you for the Trick-or-Treat rally.  What do we need to do?  We are newbies so we would like a site that is easy to get into without fear of backing into anyone/anything.  Please e-mail me the info I need at Hmnbrdlady@aol.com.

Thanks!

Hi Hmnbrdlady!

Glad you found us and congrats on your new Pop Up!!!  I'm the wagonmistress for this rally, altho work has kept me away from the boards for the past couple of weeks.  I am hoping to get back to it this week.  I'll post an update on which sites are still available (don't worry--there are plenty) and then you e-mail me with the site number you'd like; I'll e-mail you my address and then you send me a check for $80.00--site fees for both nights.  And easy, squeezy, you're in! :)  Also, if you want t-shirts, let us know the number and size of each.

This will be our second year at Vail for the Halloween rally and it should be just as much fun as last year, if not more, given all the new friends we'll be making!
