We're home, none too worse for the rainstorm last night.  We had a great time and want to say thank you to everyone for making the rally so much fun!!!!  :#:!

For all the new camping friends we met this weekend, consider yourself initiated by the rain! Oh....did we forget to mention that it always seems to rain at a SCCampers event? :D

I don't have time to post much else at this point.  Have to jump in the shower, pack my bag and get to the airport to catch my red eye flight to Philly.  Be back on Thursday and I'll catch up with you then!

Hope to camp with everyone again soon!

Us "newbies" made it home too.  First time in the rain.  Boy we really underestimated the Power of a rain storm.  Lori, thanks for a wonderful trip!  We're in for next year for sure!!  Randy, Great job on the T-shirts!  Douglas Family, thanks for the laughter.  Your kids are great!  hope you had a safe and easy trip home.  For all of you we didn't get to meet, We'll be back!  Thank you all for being so nice and making us feel so welcome!  to anyone who has a copy of the Haunted Hayride soundtrack......please burn it!   :eyecrazy: (we were the site right next to the entrance to the hayride.)  We are not sure how we are going to get to sleep tonight.   :p

Of California having a record dryspell of 182 days and it had to end the weekend we go camping. California hasn't had a dryspell longer than that since the 1950's.

Well we still had a great time. The girls had a great time trick or treating, meeting new friends and doing all of the activities that the park had to offer.

I wanted to thank Lori for all of her hard work and the Awesome enchiladas (please can I have the recipe?). Thanks Moose for all of the help with my "beginner" dutch oven skills, and the beverage  ;) (it was great), and the cake  ;)  and the...

I would like to make a request to be palced next to Moose on the next trip :!  :cake:

We did make alot of new camping friends and alot of happy memories. Thanks again and see you all in a few weeks.

What a great group of SCCAMPERS. Our son, DIL and granddaughter had a ball. We had a lot of fun and the kids costumes were great. I'm off the the Pacific Northwest for the week, so will catch up later.

well we survived and made it home safe. I had a great time, but my recent schedule left me a little frazzled to REALLY get into camping this weekend

I hope that the 4:30 am awning over the top of the PU didn't wake too many people. It didn't survive we left it at vail lake aid some kind words and parted our ways

The bright side to the whole rain thing is I know I will be getting a hybrid soon. hopefully next weekend

I was wondering if the rain made it down to Temecula...now I know.   Do you think we could get the California Farmer's Association to sponsor our camping trips.  We could break this string of drought if we went camping every other weekend this winter.

But then, as much as California, and the entire West needs the rain, camping in it is still less fun than camping without it.

Did it wait until after the potluck at least?

yes, believe it or not it didn't rain on the potluck. Luckily for some people I'm a night owl and started moving things under cover when I felt the first drops around 12:15. it didn't rain real good till around 2-2:30 (I was actually sleeping :yikes: ) 4:30 is when we lost the awning and scrambling to bring our stuff in outta the rain. hee heee it just added another point to "why I want a Hybrid" hee hee hee. see ya at the Rv show :D

The Hardee/Hively familys had a great time we were almost the last family to leave.  We saw the pastor and his wife packing up as we left. ...It was such a big group sorry we weren't able to get out and meet every one, besides I don't remember peoples  names very well anyway..Lori you did a wonderful job of arranging this trip a big thank you...The potlucks were great and I hope you do post your receipe for enchiladas.  I have never been to a CG that everyone decorates that was great...My Ghost bit the mud, I think.   The flinders did a great job on the t-shirts..a big thanks to you all.

Packing up was a bit of a challenge, first time camping in the rain for us.  I loved listening to the rain while trying to sleep...everything was pretty wet and muddy. The inside was dry, I guess our roof repairs worked. We popped her up again after we got home and tried to get her somewhat dry and put her down again last night alittle damp. I hope it will be o.k. Doesn't look like we will be able to pop her up again this week with all the rain.

Now on to camperland on the bay in Nov.  This time we will meet everyone.  If it rains we will be experienced.

LCMS pastor

Well, we shut out the lights at the c/g, leaving right at one or so - the place was completely empty - not a rig in site....

Thanks to those we met, unfortunately, both my wife and i got hit with either a flu or food poisoning or something = and spent saturday either asleep or in that brick building all the way on the otherside of the campground.

hope to get to know more of you at the pomona fairgrounds... we will be trying to decide between hi side units like the sequioa or the quick set up chalets....

anybody have a opinion?

Wow, it rained. I think it has rained 2 out of 4 ScCamper trips to Vail Lake. Last year at the Temecula rally it was so hot. I think it was 100 + degrees every day. I hope everyone had a great time. All I kept thinking this weekend was: I wonder if they are trick or treating or is it time for the potluck? I would be sitting around Dee's campfire right about now. Sigh.

We love it up north but I sure do miss my camping buddies.

P.S.  If you are referring to Lori's Dutch Oven chicken enchilada's she has the recipe already typed out in the "recipe forum"

What a blast we all had!  Although we didn't arrive until after 11:00 p.m. on Friday we managed to have a fun packed weekend.  We enjoyed the pot lucks, the decorated campsites, the costume contest, the trick or treating, the kids hayride and the haunted hayride, the moonbounce area, mini golf, the tequila (!), the campfire, etc.  It was great seeing our old ScCamper pals and meeting some new ones.  I couldn't believe all the people at the pot lucks...we had an incredible turnout.

Thanks, Diedre for stashing our stuff under our awning at 4:30 a.m!  It was quite a sight to wake up Sunday morning to see your awning on top of your trailer.  We are looking forward to checking out the hybrids with you on Saturday!

PopUpMomma, I know what you mean about the haunted hayride soundtrack and we were several campsites away.  Thanks again for the cute trick or treat fire starter.  You are the Martha Stewart of the ScCampers!  I loved your giant spider inflatable on top of your camper.

Thanks so much Lori for a wonderful job as Wagonmistress (and for making your yummy enchiladas again)!  We definitely will want to return next year.

One more thing...Thank you Randy for the t-shirts.  They turned out great!

just wanted to say 'ditto' to everything Chez Way said.  we had an incredibly great time...this event at vail lakes is very well done. we really enjoyed all the activites available, as well, as all of the decorated rv's.  i was impressed with the size of this sccampers event, wow, what a turn-out!  it was great....the food was incredible, so much yummy stuff, so little stomach space :)
thanx sooooo much to everyone who made this wonderful event possible for us.  we are looking forward to doing it again next year
i only regret that i didn't get a chance to meet more of you!
