Just wanted to say hi!  I just bought my new pop-up yesterday and I actually go do the delivery today at 2:30.  I got a 2004 Flagstaff 228 M.A.C. by Forest River.  I know nothing about these things so I hope I bought a good one.  Does anyone know anything about the availability of, or putting on a roof rack for these things?

Welcome to the board... We do not use a roof tack; what are you wanting to put on it?  You will have to watch how much weight you put on it.

Welcome!  Congratulations on the pop-up purchase!  You've come to the right place for infomation for just about EVERYTHING!

I believe Yakima makes roof top carriers for pop-ups.  Check with your dealer about warranties and roof weight limits before you go ahead with the rack.

Welcome! Purchasing our PU was one of the best things we've ever done...buying into the membership here is probably the best thing we've bought for the camper!  :>   We have learned so much from all these wonderful people. The ideas and knowledge, and just plain friendship and support that come out of this forum are amazing!

A Flagstaff 228  ! I had my eyes on that model so long but we couldn't pull it of !

Flagstaffs are supposed to be one of the best models around ! You should be very happy with it. Did you get the optional Cassette toilet and the shower or went for the regular model ?

Be careful loading the the roof of the PU though, they don't have very high weight limits and you definitely don't weant to exceed its capacity. As pointed out earlier, it is advisable to contact the dealer or the manual of the PU for those numbers.

Now you will have fun purchasing an unbeliavable amount of stuff to keep the stuffed :) We tent camp, and even we purchased so much stuff !

Ask any questions you might have, and share the stories/pictures of any camping trips you go to. :!

Hey, David, welcome a"board"! (get it, tee hee)   We're glad to have you here, not only are you in the position to be a beneficiary of all of our collective camping wisdom, we also have a new victim for things like I just said.   If you've been 'lurking' on the board at all, you'll have noticed that we are one wierd bunch of people.  We like it that way, and hope you do too.

:o I'm not weird, i'm different!:p  just because we would rather sit around a camp fire in 40* weather instead of a warm house, and i would rather sleep under canvas then a roof, and i would rather shower in a 2x2 stall then a larger one at home, doesn't make me weird, it makes me a CAMPER!:D  welcome to the different peoples group!  well maybe we are weird! it's hard to tell. but what ever we are we do it so well together!

Welcome to the board! You will learn so much here!

Other good places to learn are our personal websites. Some people have them in their signatures (like me), others have them in their profile. Pics of mods are at many of them! Enjoy!

And, BTW, I see that gr8grandpa has now reached 100 posts!!!

Congratulations on your new purchase.  Our family has only had our popup for less than 1 year, we have learned a tremendous amount of information for this board.  Again, congrats :)
