Found a company called "base camp" that makes a hard-sided pop up camper website is //www.basecamprv.com. Check it out!

Great concept but the price will keep many in regualar popups until they move on to TTs. ;)

They started up about two years ago, another major problem besides the prices is there's no real dealer network right now and it makes deliver/PDI and warranty work a real question.

Isn't this the company which were present at PUT for a while and got our opinion about their product for a long while ? Nice units, but too pricey ...

The owner of the company is actually a member here (Basecamprv).
I took some pictures of one a while back, If you want to see them go here:

If memory serves me correctly, these BaseCamp trailers are a take-off of the old Apachee line. Other than that, they are not really NEW news....

I really like the BaseCamp design.  I would rather have one of these units than a hybrid for the ease of storage & towing.  Thanks for posting this link.  I hope PUT will be a place new ideas in camping can be shared & appreciated.

If they are not very high when folded down, I would prefer them to a Hybrid. Some of the new models of PU's are so high, they are (I guess) taller than the TV vehicle in some instances. A low profile towable, full hard sided PU is a dream come true for me ! If only I had the money to purchase one ! Maybe they want to give me one to evaluate it and for promotional purposes :)

You aren't the first to volunteer for this job! :D

It just needs more windows......  that's the thing I'd miss most if I gave up my PU!

These are very similar to the old APACHE popups. Our friends have one that is about 15 years old and he still uses it periodically. We have a "95 Coleman that has hardsides on the main box....the only canvas we have is on the bed ends and I love it! We're not sure why the idea didn't fly well but we sure love ours.

Briol, you could become a distributor/dealer then you could have our choice!

FYI,
This season we introduced a new model, (http://www.basecamprv.com/SC_Product.htm) the Silver Creek.  It is more directly comparable in features and price to the new "high side wall" PUs.
