That's interesting, I haven't thought of that yet.  Tonight will be my first night in the new pop-up and actually my first night ever in a pop-up!  As soon as I get off work we are headed out.  I will let you know about the locking thing ;)

oldmoose

Well I don't, but my wife does.

We lock the door so that the dogs can't accidently open it at night.

"Accidently" is not a word I would use.  We have already caught Natasha pushing on the door handle with her nose.  She understands how it should open, just hasn't pushed hard enough yet.

So yes, we lock it at night.

I do.  Why I don't really know...just false "Peace of Mind" I guess.  I even used to lock the door on my tent :)  with a bread twister through the zippers...LOL  I know LYAS!  I figured that way at least I would hear someone rip the canvas if they were coming into get me!!!!

Hey you have to cover all your bases!

angelsmom10

Yes, we lock ours, although anyone can just open the canvas and reach in and unlock.

julecav

We lock the door just in case the kiddies get up first, not really to keep anybody out.

I said I'd report and no, I didn't lock it :p

Dave,

Yes, with an alarm system and other goodies.

We do lock it, but I'm not sure why.  I guess we think it would be harder for someone to get in if they had to go through the canvas... Just a habit, I guess....

I used to when I had the PU (and still do with the Hybrid). The way I figured it, if someone really wanted to get in they could, but I'm a light sleeper and might sleep through the door gently being unlatched, but I'll wake up at the sound of the velcro being undone!!

For me, it was plain and simple...peace of mind! Still is for the most part, though if anyone wanted into the Hybrid, they'd have to crawl over one of us in the bunk ends....you know that aint gonna work!!! :D

barbjeff

Nope, don't lock it..that might slow down the late night trips to the bathroom with unfortunate consequences :p

I always lock the door - I guess I just feel more secure.  I figure if someone tried to get in I would hear something and wake up - then I'm not sure what I'd do - use the pepper spray, I guess!!.

The door should be locked but in case it doesn't get locked, be sure not to wake up the bear that sleeps in my camper. ;)    :D  :Z
