Bats? I don't like them either. Here's our last summer bat story.

We went to bed early Friday night as I had to get up at 5 to be at work by 7. About 3 in the morning I awoke, in the pitch dark, to Peggy crawling over me to go to the potti. Out the door & into the AAR she went while I rolled over & drifted off again. When she openend the door to come back in, I heard an odd noise. As I turned, a bat had come through the door & was flying around my head in circles at about 100 mph. I could hear but not see it. Turned on a flashlight which started it moving even faster. I tried to get it out the door using a shoe & then decided to cut it with Buck (my 9" Buck knife). Well, it was moving so fast I couldn't get it and although I knew it couldn't hurt me, I don't like things like that near me. After much ado, I somehow managed to get it back out the door & into the AAR. Slammed & locked the door so it couldn't get back in....and neither could Peggy. By now, all the lights in & out of the popup were on & I told her the only way the door would be unlocked was if the AAR was bat free. Plus, try to open it through the tenting & Buck will cut you badly. Eventually, she got it out & zipped up the door. I scanned the AAR with my 1,000,000 candlepower flashlight, just to make sure it was gone, and let Peggy back in. Climbed into bed & went back to sleep for my last hour.
