Gone-Camping

Well folks, we're now only 2 weeks away from the PUX/HYX/PUT Spring Fling presented by MAPCE. I'm not sure how many people from here at PUT will be attending, but all together we have 18 families still signed up for this. The weather in Virginia has been getting nicer and nicer, it was nearly 80

Cliff,

Were you able to transfer 3 sites to the 3 remaining group sites?  This really needs to be done...I have had 2 calls this morning asking about them.

I also need to know the time of the potluck, so I can have the building open and ready.

As of FRIDAY, we only had 7 sites left for the weekend of the 9th.

I know we are late deciding, but we would like to join you at Pocahantas.  I will  plan to call the park number in the morning.  We can fill in if anyone had to drop out.

Gone-Camping

Tell you what, we just had another drop-out today, and it was one of the people in my triple site. So if you'd like, perhaps you could call in and just pay for reservation #406925 It's under my name (Maurand) just have it changed to your name if you like. They won't assign a site number, but we'll put you in site #48....

Louise, no I forgot all about it. I'll call them in the morning and take care of it. I drive for a living, so sometimes these things slip on by me!

Gone-Camping

And as far as the Pot luck goes, I dunno...how about around 6pm Saturday??? Would that be too late?

Thanks so much!  I just called and paid for the reservation.  God willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be there.

BARDENL...

Are you staying for 2 or 3 nights? And how many nights did you reserve for? I think I forgot to mention that my triple site was reserved for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. If you are only doing two sites, I may need to swap you and JAB around (since they are staying 3 nights also)... Either way, you would wind up in site 47 or 48 which are side by side anyway...

BARDENL

We're coming down Friday and staying 2 nights. The reservation person said the reservation we were replacing was for 3 nights, and she cancelled the Thursday night reservation.  I hope I didn't mess up.  I thought that was the right thing to do since you said the other folks weren't coming.  I don't suppose anyone will be there just for Thursday in any case.

BARDENL

We are just two people and will need only one site.  The total cost for the reservation I made was only like $41.  Did I cancel a reservation for 2 sites?  I didn't think so.

Gone-Camping

That's not a problem, I just needed to know so I could get things worked out. The site I originally had you lined up for was part of a triple site that I'm in, and we had a 3 night reservation (a little fact I forgot to mention to you). However, when I tried to put "JAB" in the other triple site with "BUDMAN" the reservation people told me that was a 2 nite rental, and JAB was had a 3 night reservation.

So I'll just swap the two of you around and put him in the 3 nite site, and you into the 2 nite site. They are basically side by side anyway, so shouldn't be much of a difference. They both have electric and water!!!

Great, thanks for making all of the arrangements.  I'm glad we weren't trying for this weekend, the weather here is cold and gloomy.  We are really looking forward to this first trip of the season.  Your park pictures are super.

Somewhere I saw that there is a 5 mile bicycle trail at the park.  Is this paved or surfaced for normal hybrid bikes or more for mountain bikes?  Is it relatively level?

Gone-Camping

I saw your other post, and stated there that Louise would have to answer that, I don't know. I don't believe any of the trails are paved or anything like that, so plan for earthen terrain!!

site 47 will not work for us. 48 looks good. We have a 31 foot travel trailer and will never get into 47. Let me know. Do you know where Cindy Hurr will be? She is a friend of ours.

I haven't placed anyone yet. The only site's we know for sure about are the pair of triple group site's. We know we have all six of them. I reserved 48-49-50 for my group of people, but the family that was going to use site 48 had to back out of the trip. I originally had BARDENL pay for the extra site. Turns out he's a 2 night stay, and site #48 is a 3 night site due to our reserverations for 49 & 50 being 3 nights. So I figured I'd put BARDENL in 47 and you in 48 to make it all work out. You don't have to take 48, but in an effort to fill the site it has to be someone arriving on Thursday for 3 nights like us.

As for Cindy Hurr, we haven't actually placed her yet since we don't know exactly what sites will be open...remember Va State Parks are not site specific when reserving, they just make sure you have a site (any old site) avail for your arrival.

The good part here is, since you'll be there on Friday morning when we do the site assignments, we'll let you pick Cindy's site (unless she's showing up Thursday also?

While I have ACER in #50 and myself in #49, that could be adjusted if need be. #50 was long and level, which ACER will need with his 31' MH, he doesn't have the fancy hydraulic levelers, just jack screws!!! Gotta remember, he's just a former PU camper with a bigger rig now. We can wing things if need be. What time/day do you plan on arriving?

Cliff this is JAB
48 looks like it will work. I saw on another post you might put us on  51 or 52. 52 looks great also. We plan to arrive Thursday about 6-8pm. We are hoping to get there before dark so we can see where we are backing the beast up. Of course if it is dark I am sure there will be someone there to help direct us.
Thanks for all your hard work!!
