Louise, we are looking into cutting out trip short, taking a few extra days and going home (Indiana). Especially since Donna's kids have to be in School on Tuesday to make up snow days.

Here is our problem, we do not want to take either camper with us.  Is there some place around/near the SP that we can leave the truck/Bantam combo and the dropped Jayco, then pick them back up on Saturday or Sunday? We do not mind paying a reasonable fee. I would just rather not drag the camper over the mountains. I am the one who balked KY because I of the time and distance. Motel 6 is cheaper than the closest campground also. Richmond is a straight shot home (Sellersburg Indiana and Bristow Indiana, both just a few miles off I64.

Paula, are you still going to be at the Spring Fling?

Yeper.

We will be there on Good Friday. Donna will leave on Monday and I will leave on Tuesday. Instead of bringing the campers all the way home (Donna's house, about 2 hours from Richmond, is not feasible as she lives at the end of the asphalt on a dead end road that is narrow with lots of ditches. I do not back well enough for that.)

We wanted to take off from Richmond to go home and leave the campers nearby. We could put them in Long term parking at the Naval base air station at Norfolk, where they have hops (flights), but that is so far out of the way.

Paula,

Sorry it took so long to respond....I have been in Nashville since Wednesday.

There is no place in the park to leave the campers except in the campground (at $20 per night I'm afraid). I know my boss won't go for leaving them anywhere else here. What size campers are we talking about, and for how long? I may have room in my yard.

I don't know how much they would charge, but it'd probably be a months storage for each unit!!!

I know ACER stores his at the Scott Center (Naval Auxillary Base) in Portsmouth Va... cost him $25 per month...

They say third time is charm. This is my third try posting my answer.

Louise, we are going to try to keep the Bantam (21' folded up) attached to the F150 regular cab, 6 1/2' bed. This takes up about 2 nose to nose parking places at Walmart.

I have contacted the campground in Ashland that Cliff had the link to. That would not be too bad, I would just pack up on Monday and move north. Am waiting to hear from them, I would spend Monday night there and then the night we came back, probably Saturday and leave early to drive home. I am asking them if I could pay for the first and last night leave the trailer attached to the truck and unplugged from the site and for a storage fee, leave it there the rest of the time. Don't know if they will do that or not...It does not hurt to ask.

Raymond has to drive Donna's kids home, so he will take the Jayco with the Windstar and drop the trailer on the street in front of her house and then at another time turn and pick up the trailer, then come back to wherever I am.

So you ject need a place for the truck and Bantam trailer for a couple of days? Or just the trailer?  No problem!  We have a front driveway that will hold a 32' trailer easily...nice and level...Earl will even back it in for you if you would like. As long as it's no more than a week or so, I don't think my neighbors will mind. I have a friend who is a camp host that left her 28' trailer in my back yard all winter!!

What are friends for?!?!?  Just let me know the dates and when you get to Pocahontas I can give you directions. I live about 10 minutes from the park.

Thanks, I just copied the post into an e-mail fro Raymond, he is the one who really wants to go.  I would just as soon stay unitl Wednesday then go home, but he does not see so well any more and that trip is just too much for him (he is 19 years older than I am). no, it would not be more than a week, Raymond and I both would have to be back to work the following Monday, as well as Jeffrey to school. It would probably be Monday AM to Saturday or Sunday after noon.

Will let you know what he wants to do. Thanks again.
